Product Overview

Berkshire Flooring Carpet Tiles are the softest carpet tile available on the market today. They are manufactured to allow for a broadloom appearance once installed. The Zen Style is available in multiple colors that can be mixed and matched to your liking, allowing you to be as creative as you want or they can be installed all in one color. The tiles are 24 in. x 24 in. and come with a pre-applied pressure sensitive adhesive so you simply peel and stick them to the floor. Installation is easy, the only tools that you need are a square, a tape measure and a carpet knife. The carpet is made from solution dyed continuous filament PermaClean fiber which is inherently stain and wear resistant. The carpet tile has an attached high density cushion. All Berkshire Flooring carpet tiles are environmentally friendly and carpet tiles reduce waste by 15-20% compared with broadloom carpet. You will love that they are easy to handle and that they are the no glue, no tacks, no tapes, no odor way to a simply beautiful floor.

Without carpet padding is the carpet comfortable? Can you notice there's no padding?

Asked by: Brandie
Yes, it is noticeable that there is no pad, but we installed in our basement family room and found it to be comfortable.

Want to put in our basement. We are removing carpet that has been glued down . So our concrete is no longer smooth.

Anyone installed over the glue left behind from previous carpet?
Asked by: GigiX4
I did the same thing. I recommend getting the concrete as smooth as possible. Home Depot rents scrapers or floor sanders. Without a relatively smooth surface the tiles won't adhere well

Made a world of difference in our finished basement game room - easy to install and adds charm, warmth and comfort. Difficult to locate seams after installation, as long as seam are tight and directional arrows are used as guide. Adheres well to painted cement floor but will pull up small amount of paint with repositioning/changes. I originally planned to use it in a smaller room off a much larger area, then liked it so much that I bought more and completed the whole finished portion of our basement. My family loves it!

We used this in out basement over concrete and it has stayed down without moving, even with active kids playing basketball and hockey on it. You are able to see some faint crease marks but it isn't bad at all and if you aren't looking for them you may not notice. Like someone said before, make sure the tiles are set with the arrow on the back pointing in the same direction. You wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference but it does. Overall we are really happy with the project and how easy it was to use.

As others have said, the tiles are not uniform in dimensions. They vary by up to 1/4". Actually most of them were closer to 23 3/4" than 24". For a small project like mine, I managed, but would not want to do a large project with these. Am curious how they can have such poor quality control when it comes to the size. Just like others, mine were also a bit lacking in the adhesive, especially at the edges. I called the company and was told to put some 3M spray adhesive on those areas. I went ahead and sprayed the whole bottom of the tiles, and they stuck down pretty well. However, one should not have to use that at all. For these reasons I gave the product a 3. If you can manage to get them down, they're not bad, but getting them down easily or properly can be the issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly satisfied Decided to try carpet tiles without knowing anything about them and ended up fairly satisfied. I was able to save about $175 by doing tiles instead of purchasing carpet and pad to be installed on my 238 sq ft project. The carpet on the tiles feel a little cheaper and the padding isn’t very thick, but the cost savings was worth it on my specific project. The tiles were pretty simple to place together. My main complaints would be I don't think all the tiles were exactly the same size. Even if two or three tiles per box are off by 1/8" it starts to show after a couple tiles are down, also the adhesive was almost nonexistent. I could see the tiles “sticking” on smooth concrete without much problem, but anything else would need to be glued if you want them really secured. We glued them down over an old wooden floor which had previously had “office carpet” glued down on top of it. I placed a dab of glue on each corner and the center (like a 5 on a dice). There are spots where it’s clear we used tiles, but in other areas it's not noticeable. The tiles were easy to cut with a fresh utility knife and I don't expect the sides to fray much. I made sure the sides of the tiles I had to cut were against the wall so we wouldn't be walking on cut seams which would increase the chance of fraying. The only areas you should need to cut would against the walls. Follow the instructions about starting in the middle of the room. If you start in a corner and your walls aren't 100% square you'll end up with gaps between your tiles as you move further away. Also make sure all tiles are facing the same way (there is an arrow on the back of the tiles), and when you place them together make sure no carpet pieces are hanging down between your tiles or else they won’t fit together snuggly. Overall I'm satisfied with the cost savings of doing it myself. It doesn’t look perfect and it might not hold up as well as professionally installed carpet, but I’m happy I could save some money. The next thing is to see how it holds up...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from They are not square! Overall, I bought these to save money. I am really not happy with how the install is going. Sticky back isn't sticky. I am installing these right now. They are not square, so I am forced to trim as I go to get the tiles to fit snug against each other. I also just discovered that I have one tile, buried in the middle of the room that is going the wrong way! I pull it up, to check the arrow, and there are 2 arrows pointing in different directions! Simply turning the tile the correct direction will not work , because the tiles are not actual squares. The adhesive seems weak, but I think after some walking it will cure. I am still planning to use tape in some odd parts of my basement floor.
