Answer:
Depending on what you're doing you can use Oxyclean or equivalent instead of bleach. That can be wiped or spread on your target and then pressure washed off. Found good results and it is safer and better for the environment.

Yes, its like anything else once your done run your normal detergent through the system, by doing this your purging out any residue that might be left. I have been doing this and have never had a problem with my power washer, but if you still don't feel comfortable use a 50/50 mix and repeat the process above by purging your system.

It is advised not to use bleach. I would apply the bleach with a spray bottle at best. Home Depot sells a deck cleaner that is meant to be used with that machine.

I would not run any bleach through this machine. Try to pre treat the area with a solution of 50% water and 50% bleach, give it a few minutes then use pressure washer to spray off. You may need a ladder to get to those hard to reach areas. I had trouble with high areas of my pool cage and this trick worked like a charm.

This unit s a prosumer unit, but not advisable to run bleach through the system. I have a separate bottle of a bleach mixture of 50/50. Bleach and water. I spray it on about 5 to 10 minutes prior to hitting it with the pressure washer.

Answer:
If you use the lower pressure nozzle you can safely wash you car. The high pressure nozzle will strip off the paint. Start with the lowest pressure nozzle and work you way up to what you feel is comfortable when you wash your car. If you start to see your paint fading then switch back to the low pressured nozzle. I use the low pressure nozzle on my truck. Better safe than sorry.

Pump Housing

The only issue I have looking at this product (and it looks great otherwise) is the PLASTIC pump housing. Why use plastic in place of metal which has proven itself over and over. Plastic just deteriorates over time - sometimes not a long time. An otherwise fine looking product but the plastic pump is a turn off. Anything to save a MFG buck I guess...

It is a fine working product ! but since it is mostly likely shipped from China, plastic weighs a lot less. That is the American way today, on a slow boat from China, trying to bring the weight of products down so freight cost aren't so high, IMO

My bad. Tractor Supply had these on sale so I went down to check it out. The pump IS metal - the powder coating (black) makes it look like plastic in the picture - it is metal. I purchased the unit which was on sale for $349 (new) and am very happy with its performance.

I"m not an engineer, but I can think of two reasons for plastic instead of metal. One because of the
weight it would add to the system and the fact that plastic is less corrosive and it being a pump, water
is a corrosive element.

The housing may not be metal, but it sure looks like it. Does not appear to me that this will deteriorate any time in the near future. It looks very sturdy and built to last. This is a prosumer model so I am sure that the Simpon folks know what they are doing in the way of quality.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 542 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Almost perfect experience Upon opening the shipping box, I noticed some residual oil on the High Pressure Hose and spotting inside the box (maybe 1 or 2 tablespoons at most-no biggie.) After assembling, servicing, and connecting the water supply- the engine would not start. Problem was someone floated the air cleaner in oil. Once oil was wiped up and filter replaced the unit started on first pull and worked perfectly. Bottom line: I'm happy! May 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product! Did my first deck with it yesterday. Worked great. Easy to start and use. Directions for quick start and numbered instructions on unit itself are very nince May 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine! After purchasing and returning another pressure washer to a bid box store, I purchased the Simpson power washer and was glad I did. Just one day of using it reinforced all the reviews that I had read about the washer. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine I did a lot of research before I bought the Simpson MSH3125-S because this was my first pressure washer that I would own. I have had the machine for 2 weeks now and have cleaned my stamped patio and my composite 12' x 26' porch. Well I should say that my wife used the machine on the patio and I used it on the porch and we thought it worked great. It exceeded my expectations for power and ease of use. Truly a good buy. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect size Couldn't believe how fast the shipping was even when placed before a weekend. This unit is perfect or homeowners and small businesses. Lots of power compared to older unit that finally died. What brought me to the Simpson was the good reviews along with the Honda motor and the larger gas tank. Easy to maneuver around and not to heavy. Washed concrete steps and now looks like new. Couldn't be happier and would recommend this unit to my friends. May 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Problems, but was able to resolve Picked up at Home Depot at Bellingham, WA, unfortunately the box was turned upside down with oil all over the box and pressure washer. Spent 2 hrs trying to start with no luck. Once removed the air filter it started right away, unfortunately because it was upside all the left over oil flooded the air filter. I soaked the oily air filter over night and let it dry in the sun. Make sure the air filter is completely dry before putting it back in. Hope this helps out others that see oil in the box. The washer worked great, I also purchased the Yamaha 15" surface cleaner which worked great with this machine. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product I have had pressure washers in the past, and have always stayed with the Honda engine. This unit continues to substantiate the reputation of Honda. Upon its first start, everything worked beautifully. The engine just sat there and said, "give it to me, I can handle it!!" Extremely pleased with the first performance. Will see how the next ones rate. May 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine....Great Honda Engine.....Lousy Pump I bought the 3100 PSI model for its price and power....best deal on the market. I used the washer with flawless operation for the first year, worked great!!! Aproximately 5 hours of use! I set it up for some powerwashing on my pavers and after about 15 minutes of work, the pressure stopped!! I thought my wife had turned the water off....the flow, using the yellow tip would not deliver any pressure when actuating the wand only regular water pressure. Did all the usual things....checked the manual, etc. and the final conclusion, the pump failed....after only about 6 hours of operation.........Lousy Pump!! Yes, I stored it properly, checked oil before operation, etc.. Sad but true. Don't get me wrong....I really like the unit, Honda engine, ease of use and it is well designed. Just beware.....the pump may fail sooner than you think!!! April 24, 2016
