Answer:
If you use the lower pressure nozzle you can safely wash you car. The high pressure nozzle will strip off the paint. Start with the lowest pressure nozzle and work you way up to what you feel is comfortable when you wash your car. If you start to see your paint fading then switch back to the low pressured nozzle. I use the low pressure nozzle on my truck. Better safe than sorry.

start with the lowest pressure tips. the high pressure tips are quite powerful and should be used only on non-painted surfaces. Lower pressure should work fine.

with 3100psi I wouldn't. Even with the wide angel wand that's just too much pressure for a vehicle.

Pump Housing

The only issue I have looking at this product (and it looks great otherwise) is the PLASTIC pump housing. Why use plastic in place of metal which has proven itself over and over. Plastic just deteriorates over time - sometimes not a long time. An otherwise fine looking product but the plastic pump is a turn off. Anything to save a MFG buck I guess...

It is a fine working product ! but since it is mostly likely shipped from China, plastic weighs a lot less. That is the American way today, on a slow boat from China, trying to bring the weight of products down so freight cost aren't so high, IMO

My bad. Tractor Supply had these on sale so I went down to check it out. The pump IS metal - the powder coating (black) makes it look like plastic in the picture - it is metal. I purchased the unit which was on sale for $349 (new) and am very happy with its performance.

Answer:
I"m not an engineer, but I can think of two reasons for plastic instead of metal. One because of the
weight it would add to the system and the fact that plastic is less corrosive and it being a pump, water
is a corrosive element.

The housing may not be metal, but it sure looks like it. Does not appear to me that this will deteriorate any time in the near future. It looks very sturdy and built to last. This is a prosumer model so I am sure that the Simpon folks know what they are doing in the way of quality.

I would not run any bleach through this machine. Try to pre treat the area with a solution of 50% water and 50% bleach, give it a few minutes then use pressure washer to spray off. You may need a ladder to get to those hard to reach areas. I had trouble with high areas of my pool cage and this trick worked like a charm.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 511 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by it's good I ordered online and recieved item quickly. I used item one time so far. It took a good 4 - 5 pulls to get it started. But. .. for first start this is expected as there wasn't gas at the ready for it to start quickly. As for that after some time running about an hour of use, it started first pull ever since. I dislike the handle length, it's really short compared to the competition. I wish there was an extension for it. It would be a simple addition to extend the handle. You have to literally hunch awkwardly to move it. I think the ryobi had the same motor and a better looking design. Overall it's a solid unit. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My 3rd & Last Power Washer I bought this pressure washer and 2 days after it arrived I power washed my entire 2 story house, all my outdoor furniture and the driveway. I've had other power washers before so I quickly recognized the quality - especially the Honda engine & water pump. My only ding is the rubber holder of nozzles. It doesn't hold the nozzles very well when the engine is running/vibrating. This is minor and does not affect the power washer's performance. April 8, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great out of the box Everything worked well straight out of the box. Many previous reviews noted that parts were often missing, but in my case everything was there and packaged well Engine started easily and the 3100 psi is what I was expecting and it performed very well.
