Product Overview

Not only do angles make joints stronger, they also provide more consistent, straight corners. Simpson Strong-Tie offers a wide variety of angles in various sizes and thicknesses to handle light-duty jobs or projects where a structural connection is needed. Some can be bent (skewed) to match the project. For outdoor projects or those where moisture is present, use our ZMAX zinc-coated connectors, which provide extra resistance against corrosion (Look for a "Z" at the end of the model number).

Questions & Answers

Could this be used safely to hang/attach a heavy, but shallow cornice to a wall?

Asked by: Amy
We provide allowable loads for our products, but it is up to the Designer to determine the appropriate connector for their application based on framing layout, demand loads, etc. The A44 is only rated for lateral loads, not download. Please see our current Wood Construction Connectors catalog or website for complete information on this and all of our connectors. Thank you!

The A44 is rated for lateral loads - it has a *750 lb. (160)capacity in the F1 direction and *295 lb. (160) capacity in the F2 direction (when attaching Douglas Fir or Southern Pine). Please see our catalog or website for further information. Allowable loads have been increased for wind or earthquake loading with no further increase allowed. Reduce where other loads govern. Thank you!
