Product Overview

Simpson Strong-Tie offers reliable, easy-to-dispense products for a variety of restoration applications, including structural restoration, pick-proof sealing and water-intrusion prevention. The Crack-Pac two-part, high solids, low-viscosity crack injection epoxy is designed to repair cracks in concrete. The mixed adhesive has the viscosity of light oil and a low surface tension that enables it to penetrate fine to medium width cracks. Resin is contained in the cartridge and hardener is contained in the nozzle. Once the nozzle is threaded onto the cartridge, the hardener is released into the resin-filled cartridge by turning the knob at the base of the nozzle. The two components are mixed by shaking the cartridge.

  • Dispenses with a standard caulking tool, no dedicated dispensing tool needed
  • Low viscosity
  • Clean and easy mixing; no additional tools required
  • Chemically bonds with the concrete to restore strength
  • Resistant to oils, salts and mild chemicals
  • Non-shrink

Have seepage where inside foundation wall and floor meet. Will this product seal seperation and further seepage from outside?

Asked by: GolfDoc
No: normally the footing and the wall are poured separately and sealed with a fiber liner. This product will not work: ask a professional about a proper solution.

9 oz. Crack-Pac Injection Kit is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crack-Pac Injection Kit-- it works!!!! The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is because the instructions and video could be better. The instructions really need to emphasize the need to put liberal amounts of the paste-over epoxy around the injection ports. I didn't and as a result I had lots of the injection epoxy coming out from under the ports. Nevertheless, enough of the injection epoxy stayed in the vertical crack I had running down the length of my basement wall and it made an excellent seal. This product works!!!! It's messy and it stinks (like a perm on steroids) but it works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Works really, really well. Saved me from having to dig around the basement and reseal from the outside. Just a note of caution - make sure that you shake/mix the sealant really well before injecting it. I didn't on the last tube I used and you could tell that it did not set up as well as the rest. My fault but thought I would share.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epoxy flows into crack and fills voids, seen and unseen! As advertised, product works. I bought extra epoxy pre-mixing in a tube for sealing the backside of the 8' crack in a poured foundation wall. Widest point in crack was .25 inch down to barely visible hairline. Without excavating the external wall and covering the crack with the thicker epoxy, a majority of the thin epoxy crack filler would have been wasted. The thin crack filling epoxy flowed well and amazing filled the crack up the wall to the next injection point. I was unsure if the crack was one continous crack or in series...the epoxy flowed into and even seeped out slightl to hairline cracks I had not noticed. My biggest complaint was the cure time took 24 hours in 60 degree weather (temps steady for weeks prior).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Idea, Lousy Product Well, last week I tried using the Simpson Strong Tie epoxy injection system I ordered through Home Depot on one of the wall cracks. The initial temporary surface sealing of the cracks went fine, however, when I tried injecting the epoxy into the wall, I had to hold the filling port open with one hand and squeeze the caulking gun in the other. So I'm squeezing away, then I look down, and there's a huge puddle of epoxy on the floor. It was leaking out of a small hole in the stop-cock provided with the injection assembly. Of all stupid... I tried to do three things at once to get the epoxy into the fill ports, but I'm not sure any went in. So I tried the second tube of epoxy. I couldn't even get the epoxy to come out of the end of the tube! Needless to say I'm disgusted. The basic idea is good, just the injection equipment and epoxy were terrible. I did get my money back, but... I'm going to try another outfit's urethane injection system. We'll see how that goes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product I have EVER Used I am a professional in the fiberglass industry that works with epoxy and injections as a 20 year career: this is the worst thing I have ever had to deal with. I regret trying to fix a 1/16" crack four feet long in my basement cold room with this product. DO NOT BUY. Buy a product with a thicker injection or fast acting expansion ability. I did everything the package stated, watched the videos and even watched online how-to's to be sure. I let the paste over epoxy cure for 24 hours. I started to apply the tube of sealant through the ports and after the first full tube was done and as soon as I started on a new tube I found a pin hole in the paste over leaking: I stopped applying the injection, closed everything and immediately applied more paste over to the hole. Problem is the injection is expanding and now the paste over will not set over the hole. I am going to end up with a complete tube of injection expand and go hard before the hole is plugged. I tried even holding one of the mixing sticks over the pin hole but the paste over won't set with the injection on it; it's actually dissolving the paste over I think. That is worst problem: now I have expanding injection epoxy all over the floor, most of one tube's worth. Other issues: - round ended thin sticks are useless for mixing - gloves provided are big enough for a yeti, but tear trying to get them over work gloves - mixing the hardener from the tube into the caulking-style tube almost took a paint mixer to work - the injection ports don't close all the way - the tube of injection does not drain all the way leaves a lot of injection in the tube you can't use - jars of paste over are hard to use: tubes would be better

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well, not designed for corners I purchased this product to repair a crack in my foundation that happened to be in a corner where one solide of my foundation meets another. I was able to use the product successfully. However, the injection ports are almost the diameter of a half dollar and thus won't fit in a corner. I had to trim the sides off all of them to get anywhere close enough to epoxy into the corner to allow for a seal. This did work and I have had no further leaks since the repair. This project wasn't quite as straight forward as I thought it would be due to the location of the crack and the modifications I had to make to the ports

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A few issues, but mostly positive. I had a couple of issues applying the epoxy. First, there wasn't enough putty to cover both the inside and outside of the crack wall. Not sure if it was intended to be used on both the inside and outside of the wall. But I ran out and had to supplement with the PC Products PC Concrete. Also, it is difficult to apply when the crack goes down to the floor. There is not a lot of room to maneuver around the bottom with the putty application. I had difficulty getting a good seal in some places. When injecting the epoxy, I had a couple of leaks in the difficult to apply places, with no recourse for preventing the leaks. I found some electrical putty to stop the leaks, but this was less than ideal. Having some sort of leak fix handy when injecting the epoxy is a good idea, if you're working in hard to reach areas. The putty is not the easiest thing to apply and it stinks and hardens fast if mixed as instructed. Otherwise, in combination with the PC Concrete, it seems to have created a good seal on the repair. Testing with a water hose has shown no leaks. Messy and stinky putty. Make sure to use the gloves (should have a second or even a third pair in the kit) and have lots of ventilation wherever you are using it.
