CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Suits the purpose but anchor was not included This looks to be a superior product for dry-securing a vertical 6x6 post to a concrete pier or footing, but I was disappointed that the 5/8" rebar in the description was not included. Item depth is specified as 14.38" which seems to indicate it comes with the rebar but it did not, and since I now have to go buy a 5/8" threaded anchor bolt separately, I feel the depth figure is misleading. I'll give the product 4 stars as it seems well designed for the purpose, but buyer beware of the missing anchor. It would be nice if Home Depot would revise this product's web description to make it clear that 5/8" rebar is not included. May 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great base This is a high quality post base. Regarding earlier review that stated you will have to notch rough-cut cedar posts: be sure to get the right model. The ABA66Z is sized for pine lumber and the ABA66RZ is sized for rough-cut posts. Found this out in store. August 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great post bases must have product per GA code. easy to use, well made but $20 each is excessive considering you will use many per project August 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely strong post base Simpson Strong-Tie is the post base to have. I used 4 of these for a pergola on a cement pad in order to keep the posts from rotting. The standoff is good and the metal is thick and sturdy enough that I have no concerns about it. Even after 4 months of wear and surviving some unseasonably heavy rains there is no visible corrosion. These bases seem to be a little expensive for what they are, but that's fine. Not that if you are using rough-cut lumber than the posts will not fit in this bracket without some small notches. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Works great and easy to use. Be sure to tighten down securely before attaching post. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use I was able to set the post into place with very little effort. Went back to buy more to finish off my cooking sections April 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by You may need these I bought these as part of a porch addition. I had 6x6 posts on top of 12x12 concrete piers and you need a bracket which makes a gap between the concrete and the wood to comply with code unless you want to use ugly, expensive treated posts. The brackets which you can pour into the concrete are a little cheaper, but these you connect to the concrete with a redhead bolt and they allow for a little fudging - which I generally need. My only gripe is that they are so expensive, but these are priced competitively with all comparable brackets. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent post base product Easy to install adjustable post base. Love the flexibility of the mounting bolt hole as well as the screw/nil attachment holes for the side of the wood post. November 11, 2014
