  • Install in wet concrete
  • Provides the code-required 1 in. standoff when properly installed, allows up to 2-1/2 in. of standoff above concrete (if desired)
  • Not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)
  • Made from 12-Gauge steel
  • Hot-dip galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications
  • Install with 16d common nails or #10 x 1-1/2 in. strong-drive SD screws

Would this work to anchor a swing set?

Would this work to anchor a swing set?
Asked by: Sherpaboy
We do not have any bases we can recommend for swing set applications. Our products have not been evaluated with regards to the forces that a swing may put on them. Thank you!

Customer Reviews

Hot-Dip 4 in. x 4 in. 12-Gauge Galvanized Elevated Post Base is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fence is weaker with this product I spent an EXTRA $200 on my fence to add this product to make my fence stronger and last longer. The end result? My fence leans over. The steel flexes. Sure, it bends back, but how many times before it breaks? My fence is light weight. It's 5' tall with horizontal boards with 1/2" gaps between them. It's short, it's lightweight, and has gaps that reduce sail area. I can only imagine how bad it would be if this fence were more solid/heavy. To resolve the problem that these caused I was forced to build in additional perpendicular fence posts to strengthen it. I would not have need to do that if I had just put the posts in concrete. End result: more cost and more labor to make a fence that looks less elegant. I want my money back. This ruined the lightweight and elegant design of my fence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This piece made setting Fence Posts easy and quick, essential for a DIY project. I wouldn't build another fence with out them! The Fence Post base is a "life extender" in this rainy environment. They're easy to use and make setting posts quicker, plus they will keep the posts from rotting out below ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic 4x4 post tie that was in perfect order and easy to install. I received the strong ties I ordered quickly. All of them are in perfect order and were very easy to use and install. Now I just have to see if they stand the test of time.
