Answer:
Yes, as long as your footing has not been poured; this piece needs to be inserted while concrete is fresh. Another connection already exist if footing is already poured. Inserting the PT wood post in the ground will provide more stability

Answer:
Fencebuilder,
The PB44Z is not recommended for non top-supported installations, including fence posts. Non top-supported structures (i.e. unbraced carports, railings, fences, arbors etc.) need to resist lateral loads such as wind, earthquake, climbing kids, people leaning, etc. at the top. Those lateral loads at the top of post translate to significant moment loads at the bottom.

The E-Z fence products are intended for fence applicatios and may be an option, but these are not tested/load rated products. It would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to evaluate for the specific application: http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/ezfence.asp.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by normal purchase for holding 4x4 stanchions upright Simple, efficient, cost effective vertical brackets April 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy this. buy PBS 4x4 ZMAX Galvanized Standoff Post Base instead. I cemented 3 in and then decided to spend a few more $ and used the Standoff Post base for a 4' high fence. good thing I switched! But, i still used 3. There's no comparison. I now have to reinforce (the middle of 3) due to wobbly. Buyer Beware. April 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I have these in all my fence post Works good as advertised but I had to add some screws to give it more bite in the concrete. December 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Makes for quick work Living in the Pacific Northwest - we get a lot of rain, actually no more than many other areas of the US in terms of overall volume - we just get a little bit everyday for a long time.... We have a lot of bark dust, and ground cover in attempts to keep the soil from running, all of this keeps the moisture trapped in and around posts - using these post bases makes quick work of replacing rotting posts. Please keep in mind, these are not intended for fence posts - but I use them anyway - just not within two spans of a gate - they don't provide any lateral (side to side) strength. January 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Durable and perfect for my building needs. This piece reinforced my post when I did an addition to my home. 4by4 posts fit perfectly and were easy to manuvear. May 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's suppose to 4X4 post bracket that gets cemented into the ground. I used this bracket for a fence post. Note that the post must be supported at the top, or this will not work. The material is steel and has a galvanized coating. Steel is relatively thick and the galvanized coating seems good. Price is very reasonable and it did what it was suppose to. October 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Did its job just make sure you line them up facing each other so you can get the beam between the posts. September 16, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by need a variety I needed the cb44 system that at one time you had. I had to buy long bolts to go through the holes on the inside of the product so it would grip the cement. August 5, 2014
