Are the left and right ties separate SKUs? Or is there an assortment of left and right in the same box (SKU) from the vendor?
Asked by: HD
The H2.5A is only available in the one profile shown as it is symmetrical and can be used on either side of the rafter. On one side it would install as shown in the installation illustration, then it can be inverted and used on the other side of the rafter as well (the upper portion attaching to the rafter would be over the plates). Thank you!

Can I paint (water based) over this? Now worried about paint lasting on it as much as the paint causing issue to the galvanized coating
Asked by: SunnyNC
While we do not have any restrictions against painting our products, we do not have any information/guidelines to provide regarding painting galvanized steel as this is not our area of expertise. You may wish to check further with a paint manufacturer or the American Galvanizers Association for information on painting galvanized steel. Thank you!

Can these be used to hang step stringers to deck?

Asked by: Bulbtr
The H ties are rated for uplift and lateral loads, not download, therefore would not be recommended for this application. Please see the LSC adjustable stringer connector. Thank you!

Z-MAX Galvanized 18-Gauge Hurricane Tie is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hurricane Strap Simply awesome, easy to install and strong. I put these up on a patio that I was building during a windy day. You cannot go wrong with these straps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Left and right Their are left and right so look though them to make sure you get the one you need. I got both to put them side by side. I'm going to use sawmill rough lumber which is two inches wide, which the other hangers are designed for 1 1/2 inch store lumber.
