Product Overview

The DTT2Z is a safe, cost-effective way to attach deck-railing posts to the deck framing for stronger, safer railings. Because the post is tied back into the deck joists, rather than to the rim joist alone, the connection is stronger than typical through-bolt installations. The DTT2Z is also ideal for guardrail-post connections and lateral-load connections between the deck and house.

  • Suitable for lighter-duty holdown applications on single or double 2x posts
  • Installs easily with strong-drive SDS screws (included)
  • Made from 14-Gauge steel
  • ZMAX galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications
  • Install with SDS 1/4 in. x 1-1/2 in. screws (included)

Tension ties seem to interfere with each other when installing adjacent posts on outside corner of deck. Answers?

How would you install proper blocking between the lateral band joist and the adjacent inside joist in situation where you need to place posts on both sides of outside corner of deck? Seems like the tension ties interfere with each other in the tight corner
