Description says for 6" x 6" nominal post size. Will this post base work with a rough cut 6" x 6" post with actual 6" x 6" dimensions?
Asked by: Howard
I have used them for actual 6x6 posts.. but it is tight. the sides can be hammered to fit it tightly. using heavy duty galv. nails to set the post with a good bolt to anchor it.. I like this kind of post bracket as it sets the wood abover the concrete line... I seal the bottoms of my posts with used car oil, and or sealer to keep termites out.. but paint will work as well.

ZMAX 6 in. x 6 in. Galvanized Adjustable Post Base is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product. strong and easy to use. easy to use, strong and secure, long lasting but only had 1/2" heavy duty washer with it... It should have had a 5/8" washer so you could use it for either one!
