Answer:
Absolutely. First turn off the water supply to the waterline, remove old saddle valve and position new one with same orientation and position so that you reuse the same hole on the water line.

Answer:
A replacement valve can be installed in the same spot as long as the copper tubing has not been deformed by the existing valve.

Answer:
You can but you need to make sure your alignment is correct to avoid leaks. New one does come with rubber seal which should help seal connection point.

The one I installed only flows at approximately one quart every 3 minutes (1 gallon per 12 minutes). This seems a little slow. I am using it for the water supply to an ice maker in my refrigerator.

Answer:
I get three times at flow rate. I get approximately 3 gal. In 28 min. Make sure the valve stem has completely pierced the pipe. And is backed all the way out.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick tap Handy quick tap. Used to install my drinking water filtration system. The hardware that came with the product was the wrong size for my situation so I found this handy little tap valve to be exactly what I needed. Five minute installation and I had water flowing to my filter system. Brass construction no problem taping my supply line. Placed on 3/4 inch copper supply. Used the 3/8 compression fitting to install supply line to my filter. June 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saddle valve used for Whole-House Humidifier/Ice Maker waterline install I purchased this saddle valve for the purpose of installing a copper waterline to feed my existing, but non-functional ice maker and a new Honeywell whole-house humidifier. The install went smoothly and the saddle valve has worked perfectly with no leaks. October 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wasn't quite as big as I needed I knew the 1/4 saddle clamp was to small to go over 1 1/4 in PVC pipe and was hoping the 3/8 was bigger. But it uses the same saddle clamp just a little bigger valve. The two clamps are the same size so I haven't got my water line up and running yet. Was hoping for about 1/4 in bigger. Now back to square one. Probably work on an 1 inch pipe but not wide enough for 1 1/4 pipe. Still a great product, just not for this job. September 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked like a charm! Product was VERY easy to install, has a good feel to it, and at a low price. The summary says it all September 23, 2013
