CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Simple, ez, cheap installation The ring top of my flange broke off when the builder's toilet was taken out. I panicked over possible plumbing bills. The plumbing department at Home Depot told me the correct way to repair the old flange was to completely chip it out. This simple, easy and cheap flange is what I chose from the selection of toilet flanges, including more expensive ones with more features. The top of this flange doesn't adjust. Initially I thought it would be easier to use a flange with an adjustable top ring. After one hour of slowly chipping out the old flange from inside the 4" plumbing pipe, I could barely hold a camera. The adjustable ring would not have helped. I eased it into the pipe with some gentle hammering with a towel or use a rubber mallet. You need a cement drill bit and cement screws to secure this flange on a slab. This was my first DIY toilet installation. After 2 Home Depot seminars, I was ready for it. They taught me simple is better. April 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a basic 4 x 3 closet flange - one of the most popular types This is your basic 4 x 3 Closet flange, probably one of the most popular for new applications. It will fit over a pipe that's referred to a 3" pipe, however, if you measure the pipe across the top (outside diameter) it will read 3 1/2". The 4 x 3 works for this application. Keep in mind that some closet flanges have a beveled seat that keeps it from going down all the way if the pipe is cut to floor level. It won't fit if that's the case. This part sold on this page however, will sit on the floor properly if the pipe is cut level with the floor. Don't forget to screw the flange into the floor well with at least 4 stainless steel screws (#12 x 2" should do in most applications) and, make sure that the slots are lined up on the sides so the toilet mounting bolts fit properly BEFORE the glue dries. (5 - 10 seconds). November 17, 2014
