The compression unit was easy to install and was a great quality. Pricing was very fair and the product was readily available!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Springbok Watts 1/4" Brass Compression Union
I bought two of these items. One was used to connect the poly braided line from the refrigerator to the steel braided line under the floor, so only the coupling was used. The second coupling was used on the other end of the steel braided line to attach to the line from the water filter. Both joints were quick and easy to make; both were leak-free from the start.
This part identifies online as Sioux Chief, but the store item is made by Watts.

What a piece of junk, I had a double union and a single, both leaked badly, there is no way to get the plastic tube past the rim of the c-fitting when tightening. I can't tell if the water is coming up between the plastic tube and brass collar or between the collar and the nut. Going back to the easy derlin sleeve and compression nut.

If you want your plumbing project to be successful with this product, follow these steps:
1) Open the package.
2) Throw the nuts in the garbage. The union piece is the only useful part.
3) Buy compression nuts with real ferrules.
4) Complete project in under 5 minutes instead of the 3 hours it took me to realize that no matter what I did, the included nut/ferrule combination would not seal.

Used this fitting to attempt to transition from 1/4" copper tubing to an ice-maker line. This fitting seemed to fit the plastic tubing from the refrigerator just fine, but I couldn't get it to seal properly on the copper fitting. There are no compression rings (ferrules) on these fittings, just a pitiful excuse for a thin metal seal that is built into the cap nut, which I think is probably the problem. I'm glad these weren't expensive... sadly there are no alternative products at my local Home Depot, so I'll either have to try Lowe's or go to a mom-and-pop hardware store to find a decent product, I guess.
Long story short: avoid these cheesy fittings.

After working in the power industry for 20 plus years using compression fittings on high pressure applications up to 5000psi, this ( Watts ) product is horrible. I used it to join 1/4 in copper tubing for an ice maker. Having clean cut ends and straight tubing this product doesn't seal normal water pressure of 60 lbs. What a disappointment when you have to rely on inferior products. Reading many customer reviews I tried it both with and without the inserts and it still leaked. I'll wait till my local hardware store is open to buy a good quality Swagelok product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by handyandy what a waste of my time and money
Who would have thought to look at the reviews before you buy something as basic as this?
Wasted a lot of my time trying to get it to work. After deciding it wasn't going to work, I
questioned the design and came to look at the reviews. Comfirmed it wasn't me. I think
a simple piece of pipe with two basic compression fittings at both ends would have done it.
Will stay away from anything that looks like this in the future.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HandyNoob Still leaks...
Bought this for connecting plastic tubing to copper for water line to fridge. Plastic fit well and no leak however copper side leak no matter how tight the nut is. I even tried in on both sides and always the side with the copper fitting leaked. I think it should have came with a sleeve because the leak was coming from in between the nut. I even cut off several pieces of copper thinking it might have been the copper line but doesn't matter what I do the copper connection still leaks. This product only good for plastic not for copper... wished I read the reviews before I bought it...
