Is the laser adjustable? Mine is off a bit, but the manual section on adjusting the laser doesn't say anything about actually adjusting it.

On my unit the line was right on the money but after making two (2) trial cuts the line moved way off. No amount of movement of the laser bracket would get the line even in the cutting area. I ended up by removing the device and using the OLD tried and true (good sharp pointed pencil mark). WORKS BEST EVERY TIME! Read Less

Answer:
Thank you for your question. To avoid injury, do not use a blade larger or smaller than 12" diameter and 1" arbor. We do not recommend using a 10" blade with the 3821 miter saw.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a very good saw. Could not get the blade to square up with the adjustable fence, had to take fence off and file out the adjustment holes to get it aligned. Blade is terrible, will change that asap. Saw is very well built and very sturdy, overall a good purchase. January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No Cut Laser Cut Line I would have rated this miter saw 5 stars if the laser light would have worked. When I plugged the saw into a 120 volt AC receptical the red light laser was noted as ON, but there was no cut line visabal even though I was in a dark area. Could not note any damage to the laser light mount or any other part of the saw. Have looked all over the Internet as to an answer for the problem with the laser light and have hit a blank wall. If you could give me some advise on this mater so I could rate it five stars. The LASER LIGHT was one of your most outstanding noted advertising items of the MITER SAW. 4 STARS IS ALL I CAN GIVE FOR THIS REASON. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Value The quality of the saw is exceptional and the many features are very useful. I highly recommend this saw to a home owner DIY user. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great saw with lots of features Overall very impressed with the quality and features of this saw for the price. It comes with one blade already on it, the only pieces you have to put on are the arms (the pieces that hold your board up), which are interchangeable and can be put on whichever side works best for you. This saw can rotate 50 degrees left and right, as well as to the side 45 degrees, allowing you to make a compound miter (two angles at the same time). I really like that the handle is designed for both left and right handed people. The laser was set very accurately out of the box, and is a great extra feature. The stop on the arm is very easy to set and stays put, you can cut up to 18.5" using the stop, which is enough to cut the 14.5" pieces for between wall studs. The built-in ruler is also very accurate (see picture), and is set to the side of the blade, not the center so you end up with an accurate length if you aren't marking every piece beforehand. There is a built-in clamp, you will have to remove it if you want to compound miter because the saw will hit it, but we don't do that very often so would rarely need to remove the clamp. We've only had the unit for a few weeks and have cut both thin plywood pieces and 2x4's and it works very smoothly so far. It seems to be very well built, and should last a long time if treated well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Saw This is an excellent saw for the price. Easy assembly. Powerful. Accurate. October 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean & precise! I purchased this saw to replace a 10 year old 8" DELTA saw that was under-powered and getting long in the tooth. Based on what i have seen thus far, i have no doubt that this Skill saw will last just as long, if not longer! FEATURES Skill has thought of literally EVERYTHING. There are so many little additions that truly make this saw stand out of the crowd. From the dual-handed operational trigger, to the additional side rails, to the crown molding grooves, this saw has all of the bells and whistles one could ever wish for. The manual is extremely detailed and goes through the process of adjusting each and every rail, stop, and fence to ensure they are at a perfect 90 degrees. The saw comes with an extension, an adjustable stop, and a rotating clamp, in addition to the installed 12" blade, which allows use right out of the box. I don't plan on using the quick mount any time soon, but i'm glad that it's included giving me the option in the future. Another well implemented feature is the carry handle. When in the "stow" position, the saw can be carried by the handle allowing for easy one-handed transport. It is perfectly balanced and sturdy enough where i don't worry about the drill dropping or opening. OPERATION & USE As far as the cutting goes, there is only one word for this saw: amazing. It is precise and the cuts are truly to die for. The Saw speed is perfect, giving clean cuts that leave the edge of the wood smooth as silk. There is no blade wobble. The saw is not nearly as loud as my last saw, and this is a welcome change. Once you release the trigger, there is a stop mechanism that engages to stop the saw a few seconds after release. Long gone are the days of waiting for the saw to "spin down." It is truly a pleasure to use. Most applications will merit the use of the saw outdoors in daylight. The laser, in this standard environment, is mostly invisible. I had a hard time telling if the laser was on at all. It's just barely usable, as long as you shield the cutting path from the sun. But barring indoor use, this laser could use a serious brightness boost. However, when the laser was visible, the cuts were right on the money. One thing that i did find not only easy to use but incredibly useful was the vertical clamp. In conjunction with the extension rails, this combo of features allowed true one handed use of the saw. This is not allows for extremely accurate cuts, but saves time and frees your hand for other uses. SUMMARY In summary, this drill really has it all. It cuts through wood like butter. There is plenty of attention to detail to all of the little (yet important) details, making this saw an all around all-star. This goes to show you really can't go wrong with the Skill brand. Highly recommend. December 28, 2013
