Burnt out in under a week dont think i qas too rough on it but the brushes melted to the brush guides must have a low duty cycle. if you are doing easy light work this is your drill

My 6250 drill was just used for putting in screws in plywood.
NOW I can no longer adjust it to fit any drills or screw tips since it locked up.
So next I will be using it as rebar when I mix up some concrete.
DO NOT BUY THIS TRASH

It looks like this is an updated version of the Skil 6230-01, with the exact same features and 4.5 amp motor. So, I'll give my review of the 6230-01 and others can decide if the zebra has changed its stripes or not.
I bought the 6230-01 several years ago but use it very infrequently. It looks new and I've kept it in the box in a heated room (not a garage). The 4.5 amp motor is powerful and useful, but the trigger is pretty much full speed or nothing. It takes a lot of effort to trigger to slow speeds and is almost impossible to adjust for finer work or using the drill as a screw driver. Finally, about a year ago the drill stopped working, and I found that I had to bend the power cord a specific way in order for the drill to work at all. For a rarely used and carefully stored drill this is unacceptable. I don't know about their other tools, but I'll try to avoid them given my experience.

I'm involved in a huge restoration project of a 1967 Mustang GT Coupe. I have to remove 46 years of rust, dirt and road grime from under and inside this car. This drill was purchased to replace two other electric drills I have either broken or worn out using them to rotory steel brush the metal of this car.
My only complaint with this drill is I wish it had a trigger lock button.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tsmith Nice drill
Bought this to replace 2 others about 20 years old.
Seems well made, variable speed small as I could find
in a corded quarter inch drill.
Have not used it a lot yet but look forward to it.
I am a big fan of Home Depot and I live dangerously
close to one !!!!

Bought as a replacement for another 3/8' corded drill that is on it's last legs. Used for sanding wooden bowls on the lathe. So far it has preformed as expected.
