Product Overview

Use your rough carpentry tool in precise fashion with this Adjustable Circular Saw Rip Fence from Skil. It keeps the saw blade moving down a straight path when cutting along the length of a board, thereby eliminating the need to measure and mark a cutline before each rip. Just pass the fence through the fittings on the front of your saw, set the desired distance from the edge of the plank and you’re ready to perform repeated cuts.

  • Gives your rough carpentry tool the precision of a table saw
  • Fence plate travels along the edge of a board to make precise lengthwise cuts
  • Steel construction offers lasting durability
  • Accurately measures width of cut so you don't have to make manual measurements on your workpiece
  • Includes screw and wing nut
  • Ripfence for Skil and Skilsaw models: 5080, 5180, 5150, 5185, 5280, 5250, 5350, 5400, 5480, 5490, 5500, 5550, 5580, 5680, 5700

What holds it on the saw? Does it come with a screw or wingnut or hardware or what?

This was easy to attach to my Skil saw and made ripping boards a very easy task. This makes it so simple to get even cuts every time. I don't have a table saw and for what I was doing this is the next best thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rip fence I needed to rip some 1x6 on a shed project I was working on out in the yard. I clamped the boards to the saw horses and ran the saw down the board. It worked great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it does the job Handy. I like that it is small enough to leave attached (invert to store). Accuracy is about what I expected and good enough for general ripping of construction lumber. adjusting for proper width is trial and error but the ruled markings help. It is held in place by a small set screw which will probably wear in time, keep it tight and check from time to time and you should be fine., For longer cuts on panels and finer wood, I would use the more expensive and longer product or make my own fence from MDF and melamine boards.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected If your product needs this, it works as expected. Only thing is Skilsaw should include it free of charge and not as a separate purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and rip boards I needed to use my saw to rip about an inch off a 2x4. This tool installed quickly and kept its position as I did the work. Much easier than eyeballing a long cut along a pencil line. I should have purchased this years ago for how inexpensive it is compared to the convenience it offers. Note that it worked with my old Skil 7-1/4" Circular Saw, Model 54HD which is not actually listed on the packaging for the fence.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lack of product details / description - wrong product Product description is lacking all of the measurements and product details are misleading / false. It states on the web site that this guide will fit my model of Porter Cable Saw. It doesn't even come close.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Yet Effective As simple as they come, but it does exactly what is needed to complete the job. Easy to adjust throughout the project.
