As a novice furniture refinisher, I love, love love it!!! Very versitile, easy to use and the instructions are clear. I've basically replaced three other sanders !!!

It might be good for projects you don't want to finish any time soon. Velcro backing comes off. Attachments wear easily. Exhaust will NOT allow for a vacuum attachment.

I bought this to help in my furniture re-finishing. I am so glad I did! It is great. It fits my hands much better than conventional sanders.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by anperez65 Works Well but Attachments Not Durable
I bought the Octo Sander to finish (fine sand) a cypress swing and became excited with the selection of attachments available to get into hard to reach places (nooks and crannies), but the attachments are made of low-grade plastic and broke within the first five minutes of use. The sander is a little powerhouse, but the attachments are not compatible, making this sander not as user-friendly as it could be.

I am a upper level, hobbist carver. I purchased the Skil 'Octo' as a gift to myself and to use as an addition to my Dremel 4000.
I was extremely happy with it's weight, agility, ease of finding sanding pads and large/practical array of accessories etc. However,I was surprised to have the entire, front of the base simply fall off while using it to shape/re-edge a piece of door framing.
The pad will not reattach and now, I am going to have to go by a complete replacement.
Not the product I thought I had purchased two years ago.
