I am a tool freak AND I love a good bargin.
I purchased this sander to replace a worn out Skil 6x18 belt sander. Actually, I broke the bag on the old one, and a replacement was not available. Consequently, Home Depot had this refrub on sale so I ordered it in. It arrived quickly, and honestly, I should have bought one of these long ago.
I really like how it works, particularly with the pressure control.
Lastly, you cannot distinguish this refurb from a bradny new one. Got for it!

I bought the belt sander about 5 months ago. Its true the small filter canister does fill up with debris, but its a no brainer to empty it periodically. This is why the unit overheats if the motor cannot exhaust it will get hot. Other than the filter is a god send I do have to wear a mask when using it.
This is not a unit a contractor would use its meant for doing light duty wood work for the hobbyist. It has more than enough power from the 6amp motor. Best $50 I ever spent.

Nice beltsander,I like the features and it works great,I have used it on quite a few door edges and a few other things, the dust collector is great it collects about 90% to 95% of the of the dust and debris from sanding, the first time I used it I did not think that the dust collector collected that much and then I emptied the collector and there was a huge pile of saw dust and only about 5% to 10% of the dust wasn't collected,I was impressed, and when sanding on a no need to use any downward pressure, the weight of the sander creates enough pressure,be sure to have a good hold/grasp of the sander, and the trigger lock works great, very nice and great working product

Not at all impressed with this unit. The "pressure monitor" seems overly sensitive - just resting my hand on the front handle makes it turn red. But the worst part is after less than six months the dust port is clogged and saw dust now pools up on the piece of wood rather than blowing into the plastic receptacle. I've taken the cover off, tried blowing air into it, even banged it on the workbench to get whatever is in there out, but no go. Now when I use it I have to stop from time to time to remove all the saw dust, and the unit now runs very hot. Should not have bought this unit.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Phil Very poor dust collection
This is my second 7510 sander in 2 weeks. You have a nice machine but what good is it if the dust chamber plugs up? There is no access door to clean out the chamber. It worked good for two 2 x 6 x 20 foot boards, then it plugged up. I back blew it out once with 150 pounds of air and it worked poorly for about 5 feet of board, then the plastic dust collector collected no more dust. It was all in the air and on the board. Why don't you fix the dust collection chamber (not the clear plastic container) or give it an access door to clean it out. I'll be returning this unit also. This is not up to Skil's usual standards.

This sander has proven to be a good asset to my shop, I like the weight, design and the fact that most of the time the belt tracks itself without any adjustment. My hobby is cabinet making, so I use this tool quite allot, the only complaint I have is that it doesn't hold up to long term use, my first one only lasted a year before the brushes gave out, but I liked it so much I went out and bought another just like it, I plan to fix the bad one when I get a chance.

I know the first guy didn't give this a good review, but I found this product to be very good for the price. I've probably logged over 4 hours of use on this machine and the only complaint I have is that the filter does fill up fast and will blow off, you just have to keep it emptied regularly or use the shop vac attachment. I have been using inexpensive Harbor Freight belts on it and have not had one belt issue or slip on this tool. The project I purchased this for is to strip and rebuild kitchen cabinets, so it is getting a lot of use. Good product for the money, maybe first reviewer just got a bad one.
