Product Overview

The SkyLink Home Wireless 3-Way On/Off Kit gives you the convenience of adding an extra wall switch without the hassle of running additional wiring. You can turn lights on and off from either end, making it ideal for stairwells, garages, bedrooms, or basements. Easily install by replacing your existing wall switch with the SkyLink Wall Switch receiver (WE-001) and mount the Wireless Wall Switch transmitter with screws or double sided tape (included) anywhere you would like to control your lighting. Unlike many other brands of wall switches, our SkyLink Home Control Wall Switch receiver doesn't require neutral wiring, making the installation even easier. The Wireless Wall Switch transmitter is operated by a long life lithium battery and carries a signal up to 500 ft. away in an open area. You can also add up to eight SkyLink wireless transmitters, such as the Wireless Wall Switch (TB-318), Motion Sensor (ID-318) or Remote Controls (TC-318 Series), to control your Wall Switch receiver. To give the SkyLink Wall Switch receiver a more stylish look, snap on a decorative cover, TM-002 (sold separately), to the opening of the Wall Switch receiver (WE-001). Once the Snap-On Cover has been placed on the opening of the Wall Switch receiver, simply press the button on the cover to turn the lights on/off.

Can I use this with a Hampton Bay fan with LED bulbs in the light fixture? I have no expectation of dimming, I'd want it to control light and fan together

Answer:
Normally this kit is not recommended for LED bulbs because when you turn off the system, there is still a little bit of electricity running through and the LED bulbs don't fully shut off. Because of that, i won't recommend it. Buy the MR-318 with a TB-318 remote switch,. This will work for LED as well.

Answer:
Due to these units are wireless and use radio signals, we don't recommend this to be put in a gang box. If you are going to have more than one of these kits, the receiver units should be 3 feet away from another receiver unit to avoid conflicts.

Connecting porch and garage lights to same switches?

This question is from 8-Amp Specialty Adaptable 3 Way On/Off Switch Kit - White
Asked by
Longview, Tx

August 9, 2016
I have porch lights that are connected to a switch in my front hall and garage lights connected to a switch in the utility room (garage exit). I have wanted to install a regular 3-way switch so when at either location both set of lights will come on. Not an electrician so going into attic to do this work is not my cup of tea.

I am wondering if this product would work to turn the lights in both areas from one or the other location at the same time. If so, what product numbers would I need?

Answer:
Yes this unit would be suitable for your desired operation. I would recommend purchasing two SK-8 kits, so you can program both of the included wall mount transmitters, to each receiver, so when either one is activated, it will turn both sets of lights ON/OFF.

I bought this to replace a 20+ year-old version of the same type of product that had become unreliable. Installation was quick and simple, taking only about 15 minutes, and it performs exactly as expected. I have to take away one star because the wired switch looks unfinished without the "Decorative Snap-On Cover" which must be purchased separately. And for an additional $13 no less! THAT is downright absurd.

This product seemed like a perfect solution but it just stopped working one-day after a week or so . SkyLink tech support had me return the product for a replacement. After a long wait I received the same unit back and it still doesn't work. I tried to contact customer support again and now they won't even respond to my emails. This product is a gamble and the support is terrible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but buy the cover This doesn't come with a cover for the wireless switch so buy it up front. Without it you will have this awkward looking switch with two bright blue LED lights shinning at you at night. So buy it up front verus after and having to pay shipping again. NET NET was easy to install and has been working fine. I didn't use it in a 3 pole environment though but as augmenting a light swtih on the other side of the room versus tearing up a wall / attic to have a another light switch. Just wish it came with a dimmer :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Solution We had a switch at the top of our lower level staircase with the light on the lower level where you enter. So you would have to go up the stairs to turn the lower light on or off. For years we wanted to have a 3 way switch at the bottom of the stairs. Our switch wiring was only for a single switch. Rather than run new wiring this solved our problem. Now we can turn the light on or off from upstairs or downstairs. The installation was quick and the product is very affordable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well and reliably most of the time This switch does work as it advertised. Occasionally, the remote switch does not turn on/off the light, so you may have to toggle it once more, but most of the time it works well. The receiver switch is not best looking -- I wish it looks more like a real switch instead of the wired looking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Remote 3way Remote switch doesn't work all the time. I've had to switch it off and on several times to get it to work. Also had to use the energized switch in order to reset the remote. This is the second switch I purchased. The first worked fine for a few weeks then the remote quit completely

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'd never heard of wireless 3-way switches before! I'd never heard of wireless 3-way switches before! I was trying to figure out how to add a 3-way switch and a friend suggested I do it with a wireless switch. Great invention! Easy to install and works great.
