They work as promised, but it is a little dangerous to use just a couple minutes for the setting because by the time you get in the car and start backing out...you may not be fast enough and the door comes down on your car. The electronic eye does cause the door to immediately open if it is interrupted. Also, the override procedure to keep the door open instant as very straight forward, and it difficult to judge the setting until you get used to it. The two door openers do not interfere with each other. There are just two wires to connect, very simple.

The controller connects to original wall door switch with a provided short crimp cable. I would keep the existing garage door wall switch in place until you find out if the new wall controllers two bottom buttons are able to turn the door opener lights off and on and lock the controller. I have a Genie Excelerator II model garage door opener so I had to connect an external wall wart to the side of the controller to power the controller. I did have trouble at first getting the controller door switch to sync to the door position and to the controller. Install the wall controller, the controller power if required and the door switch to the roll up door. Close the garage door with the old wall switch and then pull the door switch battery tab out to turn on the door switch. That way they are all synced together. Open the door with the new wall controller and the controller beeps to the count down before it automatically closes the garage door. Press the controller once and the timer halts. Press it again the the door closes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great concept, lousy execution The unit was easy enough to install. It has the ability to substitute for an expanded wall unit with separate light and door control, but it will not do so with a Genie brand garage door opener, so I wired it as a simple push button remote. After less than a week the sending unit that attaches to the garage door stopped working. Replacement batteries were no help. Neither was the repeated attempts to contact the company for warranty replacement. A month later and still no response.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Outomatic garage door closer This is the second one I had to buy the reason i bought the 2nd one is that i like the product.. I did not like however that the first one it only lasted for less than two years I expected for it to last longer. I hope this one will be of better quality and last longer. one more thing about the latest one the beapper sound is too low which is hard to hear it. the first one was louder and in my opinion perfect i could hear it even with my car motor running.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Fairly Well I left the door open during a rain storm and it interfered with the garage safety sensors, so the door stayed open all night. Also the door sensors use watch batteries as power. They will be more expensive to replace vice a AA battery. All in all I would opt for a system that also gave a phone notification as well. All it takes is something to break the safety signal and the unit will not close.
