Answer:
It can work with older garage door openers. You may need to purchase an additional, 12VDC power supply to make it work.

Answer:
This unit's receiver has to be clipped on to existing wall button wires. If your shutters do not have a single press operation wall button, I would not recommend this unit for your desired application.

The opener is about 10~15 years old and still works as do the battery remotes. It is the hardwired wall control panel that needs replacement. The old Harrison part number is 8030832 and I'm trying not to have to replace the battery remotes. Photo is attached.

Thank you.

Answer:
If you want to remove the Harrison control panel and replace it with the GBRK, theoretically you should be able to as long as the button on that control panel can open the door by press and release and not Press and Hold.

Answer:
As long your Omega-Matic is a single press operation opener, this unit should work with it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk This should've been as easy as changing a light bulb but NOOOOOooooo!! First the Clamp to go over the existing wires didn't work as designed. The pins inside of it were not centered so did not pierce the wire. SO, as suggested, I cut that off and tried to simply splice the 2 existing wires to the new button unit but it NEVER worked as designed for some reason.. How could something so simple be so useless?! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not compatible with all openers. I have a very old Genie screw drive opener and this device was not compatible. Customer support was helpful and sent another receiver thinking the first one was defective but the replacement unit had the same symptoms. Conceptually, this device could be the perfect solution for many old openers but evidently not all of them. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BUY IT This was so simple that I was kicking myself for having not done it sooner. I bought a house with a detached garage that could only be entered through the garage door and the garage door had only one remote. I thought, if I could add a keypad to the exterior it would make entry way simpler, and give me to option to get additional transmitters as well. The existing opener was pretty old (I'm going to guess at least 20 years), so having read some of the other reviews I was cautious that it might not work. I did have to remove the clip on feature because the wire from my opener was older and too fat, but it's super easy to just wrap two wires together. So ya...you wire them together and screw it into the wall and it's done. It's amazing. BUY THIS. February 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by should have done this years ago makes life a little easier having this item installed. February 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It was poor for this product According to the comments from homedepot website, I thought this product was good.I bought it through internet. The result was disappointment. It was easy to install, but it did be hard to let it work. Following the instruction of original package, it could make it work. Next day, I called the company for helps. The technical professional could let it work and suggested to change Model G5K. I tried again and again before I returned it. It did finally work. I mounted it to the wall. But about one hour later, I tried it again. I quited to work again. I called the company support line before their working hour. No one answered the phone. So It looked it was bad product and bad service to me. I decided to return it back to Homedepot and find another reliable product. It was bad experience to me. Thanks. October 31, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small investment to upgrade features of a very old opener Once installed, the unit works very well. The online description did not clearly state that a supplemental power supply might be required for older units. I had to contact the manufacturer to order the additional part which delayed installation one week. The programming directions do not clearly state that the default mode is multi-door requiring you to pass a door # at the end of the code transmit. Gave the appearance that the programming step failed. Had to disable multi mode, before the transmitter would send with just the passcode when # was pressed September 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible. Just terrible. The only thing worse than the actual product is skylink's customer service. Not only did this piece of garbage not work, it shorted out my garage door operator and locked the door shut. When I spoke to customer service, they told me they could send me a new one, but they would not pay for the repairs to my door or the operator. If you value your money or your sanity, just drive your car through the garage door instead of dealing with this junk. June 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect solution for the task I searched high and low for way to continue to use a well working older opener and this product is a home run...I tried other remedies and grew frustrated to the point of giving up. I had several applications where this product was called for. Seems like a great product line; the Depot should consider it in stores! August 19, 2014
