The description says it works with Skylink remote models XXX and more. I am confused as to what "and more" means. Can you program the GB-318 to work with the opener's original remote controls, or do you have to use new remote controls from Skylink? I am thinking it should work with other brainds, or else why would this be sold separately?

Answer:
This unit is only compatible with remotes made by Skylink. This unit can work with a lot of Skylink remotes/devices. It can also be connected to our new SkylinkNet alarm system, hence why they've mentioned, it can work with more then just the units they've mentioned in the product description.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Spend the money and get a better option. 25% of the time it did not recognize the remote. Light would flash showing it was receiving the signal, but did not accept the code. 10% of the time it did not receive the signal at all, even withing a few feet. Battery replacement and reprogramming the receiver to the transmitters did not solve my issues. Looking for a replacement system now. January 25, 2016
