Answer:
Yes there is a Off/Alert/Alarm switch which allows you to set the receiver to your desired mode. If you set the switch to Off, it will cancel the audible alarm and only make the zone light flash.

Answer:
The alarm will sound for 3 minutes then stop, until the door is closed then re-opened. IF the system is set to the "Alert" mode, then the receiver will beep constantly, until the door is closed.

Answer:
This is not the item for that. This bundle has a remote switch that senses when your garage door is open or closed. You need a motion sensor to go along with this base unit.

There is a separate motion sensor (Wireless Motion Sensor
Model # 204176739, available from Home Depot) that is designed to work wirelessly with the receiver in this system. The door-status sensor that comes with this specific system would likely be useless for your purpose. Perhaps you may be able to find some combination of the receiver only (without the door-status sensor) and the motion sensor separately for a cheaper total price, but you may possibly have to simply order this system and the separate motion sensor even though you would not use the door-status sensor.
On the other hand, if you are ingenious enough, you may be able to invent a way to use the door-status sensor to sense when someone enters your garage. For example, you may be able to use some sort of mat that tips the door-status sensor when someone steps on the mat. But I imagine doing that may take a lot of time and manipulation to come up with a good, reliable design. Read Less

Answer:
Since you don't have a door in your garage, you should then look at the HA-434RTL. It has a motion sensor so that if someone walks in the garage, the unit will notify you inside the house. Home Depot should have this also.

Answer:
Only the receiver emits the audible siren. If you would like to have the siren sounding in two different locations, I would recommend simply purchasing an additional HA-434RL receiver.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Consistently Great For Me I've owned mine now for just a few months now, and it works consistently as it should time and time again whenever I open and close my garage door. It took me a little while to figure out how to program, but once that was solved, it has worked flawlessly. I had to use my own 2 way tape after a few weeks since the 2 way tape that came with unit failed after a couple of weeks, but no big deal. If you want an economical way of being reminded that your garage door is open, then this is a perfect solution. Hopefully, this unit lasts for many years to come. Only time will tell about that... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Helpful Tool The reason I got this tool was because we have a detached garage and I have to walk around the place to see if it accidentally got left open before night time. It happened to have been left open one night, and we actually had some things stolen from us. So I decided to use this unit and see how it would help. It does a great job at relaying information. Not the most technical, in an app world, but it does exactly as it says. It will notify when the garage door is open and when it is closed. You can choose sound or no sound which is also very helpful. All in all, great purchase if you want to know the status of your door. July 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Garage Door Monitor I did not like the installation location of the sensor. I have had several garage door monitors in the past and they had better range than this particular unit. The ones that I had in the past had the sensor at the top of the garage door, instead of at the bottom of the garage door like this one. Being at the bottom of the garage door, required the sensor to have to transmit through the rear of the vehicle. This meant that the receiver unit had to be very close to the sensor transmitter. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Intermittent Operation I have had the remote alarm installed for about 4 weeks and was very pleased when I first installed the device. About 2 weeks after it was installed, the red light would flash an error code. I had to re-synchronize the switch with the base unit. After about another 10 days it happened again. The 2 devices are about 50 feet apart and well within the maximum range. If it fails again, I will try moving the base unit closer to the garage. If your garage door has a large horizontal reinforcement ridge at the bottom of the door, you will need to construct a mounting surface that is flat from the garage floor to at least 4" up the door. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Information on product installation I was unable to install the product because of the way my garage door is made. Needed more information in advance that it was to be installed on the very bottom of the door with contact on the garage floor. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best It is good for long distance ranges. It could be better if there be different tone for each door. Also it would be better if we can turn only one or more door off or on manually on the base. Also short chim tone option is a good idea. But over all this is one of the very good quality item in market that you can trust May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great Worked perfectly out of the box. Easy setup and 3 modes to suit your needs June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wish i had gotten one years ago it was kinda tricky to program the device, and hard to keep it stuck to my garage door, but once i figured it out, it's been great. at first i used the beeping alert, but it was a pain silencing it whenever i opened the garage door to get the paper for example. so i switched off the beeper and now just use the green and red light.. by the time i reach the remote in the house, the garage door has closed and (hopefully) the light shows green. i am very happy with this device - no more forgetting the garage door open or having something stuck underneath to let unwanted critters in! the electronics are nowhere worth the price, but what is the value of peace of mind? homer had it at my store for pickup in only a few days.
