Customer Questions & Answers

Does the alarm turn off if the door is shut again, or is there a code or switch that must be used to turn off the alarm?

Asked by: Jo
The alarm stops when the sensor finger withdraws back into the bottom of the door unit, when you close the door.

Can I turn off all audible alarms?

Asked by: Dave
Yes. You can use the mode where there is a green light for closed and red for open and no audio alarm.

I do not have a door on my garage

I want something to notify me inside the house when someone comes into the garage.
Asked by: Kota
Does not make sense. If you do not have a door on your garage, how do you get your car in and out? This attaches to the door that goes up and down so you can get your car in and out. It will do what you want.

This seemed exactly what I needed--only wanted an alarm I could program to show lights and no audio alarm. Wanted to put it by my bed to have peace of mind that the door was secure before going to bed. It worked great for several days then got confused. I bought a fresher battery, moved it about 10 feed closer to the door. Same thing happened. Moved it even closer again. Worked 3 days and now can't depend on it. I even extended the antennae and taped it up the wall so nothing was getting in the way of reception but walls in the house. Still isn't dependable after the first few days of resetting it. I'm very disappointed in it. If it's not dependable, it's no use at all as a security alarm.

The CR2032 (?) coin cell in the door sensor still works, and the signal extends far enough to reach across my house and the driveway. Installation was a no-brainer, at the bottom of the door. Just screw it to the bottom of the door, half an inch off the floor. I use the alert option, so the alarm noise doesn't wake up my wife in the next room, but is still loud enough to remind people in the room that the door is open. I haven't tried the loud option. Programming was quick, at my kitchen table before the installation. The $27 price was super cheap for this functionality. It's also extensible, with room for 3 more sensors, and the manufacturer doesn't look fly-by-night.

Be aware that the actual functional range is closer to 100 feet, not 800 as stated. But I finally found a suitable location in my house and it is working reliably. I had tried to call the company support line but after getting into their circular voice prompt system was disconnected. Finally found a way to leave a message, but it was never returned.

It needs to be reset occassionally as well. Though there is an unobstructed path to a wireless motion detector, it also doesn't always function properly.

The unit is perfect, however the unit beeps every 1 second when the garage door is up. My previous unit beeped once a minute. Once a second is too much and annoying. They should include the ability to set the beep interval, 1 second, 10 seconds, 30, etc.
