Answer:
Yes there is a Off/Alert/Alarm switch which allows you to set the receiver to your desired mode. If you set the switch to Off, it will cancel the audible alarm and only make the zone light flash.

The alarm will sound for 3 minutes then stop, until the door is closed then re-opened. IF the system is set to the "Alert" mode, then the receiver will beep constantly, until the door is closed.

Answer:
This is not the item for that. This bundle has a remote switch that senses when your garage door is open or closed. You need a motion sensor to go along with this base unit.

There is a separate motion sensor (Wireless Motion Sensor
Model # 204176739, available from Home Depot) that is designed to work wirelessly with the receiver in this system. The door-status sensor that comes with this specific system would likely be useless for your purpose. Perhaps you may be able to find some combination of the receiver only (without the door-status sensor) and the motion sensor separately for a cheaper total price, but you may possibly have to simply order this system and the separate motion sensor even though you would not use the door-status sensor.
On the other hand, if you are ingenious enough, you may be able to invent a way to use the door-status sensor to sense when someone enters your garage. For example, you may be able to use some sort of mat that tips the door-status sensor when someone steps on the mat. But I imagine doing that may take a lot of time and manipulation to come up with a good, reliable design. Read Less

Since you don't have a door in your garage, you should then look at the HA-434RTL. It has a motion sensor so that if someone walks in the garage, the unit will notify you inside the house. Home Depot should have this also.

Answer:
Only the receiver emits the audible siren. If you would like to have the siren sounding in two different locations, I would recommend simply purchasing an additional HA-434RL receiver.

This seemed exactly what I needed--only wanted an alarm I could program to show lights and no audio alarm. Wanted to put it by my bed to have peace of mind that the door was secure before going to bed. It worked great for several days then got confused. I bought a fresher battery, moved it about 10 feed closer to the door. Same thing happened. Moved it even closer again. Worked 3 days and now can't depend on it. I even extended the antennae and taped it up the wall so nothing was getting in the way of reception but walls in the house. Still isn't dependable after the first few days of resetting it. I'm very disappointed in it. If it's not dependable, it's no use at all as a security alarm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Helpful Tool The reason I got this tool was because we have a detached garage and I have to walk around the place to see if it accidentally got left open before night time. It happened to have been left open one night, and we actually had some things stolen from us. So I decided to use this unit and see how it would help. It does a great job at relaying information. Not the most technical, in an app world, but it does exactly as it says. It will notify when the garage door is open and when it is closed. You can choose sound or no sound which is also very helpful. All in all, great purchase if you want to know the status of your door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Consistently Great For Me I've owned mine now for just a few months now, and it works consistently as it should time and time again whenever I open and close my garage door. It took me a little while to figure out how to program, but once that was solved, it has worked flawlessly. I had to use my own 2 way tape after a few weeks since the 2 way tape that came with unit failed after a couple of weeks, but no big deal. If you want an economical way of being reminded that your garage door is open, then this is a perfect solution. Hopefully, this unit lasts for many years to come. Only time will tell about that...

The CR2032 (?) coin cell in the door sensor still works, and the signal extends far enough to reach across my house and the driveway. Installation was a no-brainer, at the bottom of the door. Just screw it to the bottom of the door, half an inch off the floor. I use the alert option, so the alarm noise doesn't wake up my wife in the next room, but is still loud enough to remind people in the room that the door is open. I haven't tried the loud option. Programming was quick, at my kitchen table before the installation. The $27 price was super cheap for this functionality. It's also extensible, with room for 3 more sensors, and the manufacturer doesn't look fly-by-night.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garage Door Monitor I did not like the installation location of the sensor. I have had several garage door monitors in the past and they had better range than this particular unit. The ones that I had in the past had the sensor at the top of the garage door, instead of at the bottom of the garage door like this one. Being at the bottom of the garage door, required the sensor to have to transmit through the rear of the vehicle. This meant that the receiver unit had to be very close to the sensor transmitter.

Be aware that the actual functional range is closer to 100 feet, not 800 as stated. But I finally found a suitable location in my house and it is working reliably. I had tried to call the company support line but after getting into their circular voice prompt system was disconnected. Finally found a way to leave a message, but it was never returned.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked great, at first.. After GD was left open one night and garage was ransacked, this seemed like a good option. Worked flawlessly for two years, then it started to keep alarming after the GD was closed. Have to unplug to reset. Other issue is the low volume setting is still too loud. I keep the receiver inside a bathroom cupboard and still its too loud.
