Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 66 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy set up instructions, started right up. Great! Easy to put together. Just a couple parts, handles tires, etc. and it started right up! Runs nice and smooth--no "hunting" when under light loads. I spent a little bit of time looking at the engine size (cc), run time, peak load, features (like a case iron sleeve), and price. I emailed the smarter tools folks with a question prior to purchasing and was delighted to get a real person and prompt response. I then settled on the Smarter Tools unit. I only gave it 4 stars because Ive only had it for 3 months. November 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by More than satisfied Started on second pull...Easy set up...Not as loud as other generators. December 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems Good Haven't yet used in an emergency, however did connect to Transfer Switch and test ran under the load I expect it to handle. Performed well supporting two refrigerators, and my well pump as well as some low load lights and sockets. Starts on the first or second pull most of the time. No complaints. I'll update after the next outage (shouldn't have to wait long, we get plenty). November 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I just used it for the first time. Worked great Worked great except it took 4 pulls to start. That may because I turned off the gas to shut it down a couple of months ago when I first got it and tested it. I had a smaller generator before and had to turn off the lights to run my wells. Now when the 3500 watt wells kicked in there were no hiccups. Also I was able to use my Advantium microwave. I turned off the well breaker first, to be safe, then turned on the microwave. The lights dimmed but it worked. It is nice to be able to have lights, TV, flush the toilet, and cook. Now I am only missing the 4500 watt hot water heater for long outages. November 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Plenty of power, easy to start, and easy to maneuver. Easy to start, easy to maneuver, plenty of power. I only found one drawback and that like most lower priced generators it's on the noisy side. But I knew that going in.. June 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product. Good price. The generator was delivered spot on time. Driver was great. He didn't just deliver it to the curb but wheeled it up to the garage voluntarily. Unpacking and set up was easy. Even though this unit is heavy (supposedly 170 lb shipping weight) it was very easy to move around on the 10 inch wheels. Instructions were pretty good and what little assembly was required took about 20 minutes. It's super easy to start and run. There are multiple options for output and the controls are very accessible. One short coming is the choke is a bit awkward to get at but you only use that once per run. I'm converting mine to a three fuel system for maximum flexibility as.wil be used as an emergency generator. October 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by defective wheel When I bought the generator it came with a defective wheel and 3 weeks later still no replacement yet, nor any status update. April 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Helped us battle Sandy We were already out of power for 36 hours when I found out that the Downingtown Home Dept had received a shipment of 170 of these (no one else in a 50 mile radius had any generators). Got it home, took it out of the box, added the wheels, added oil, and then gas...and to my surprise it started on the first pull! My luck is always bad, so I figured it wouldn't work at all. I was able to run 2 fridges, 1 stand up freezer, a hot water tank, a 47 inch widescreen TV, DVD player, and a number of lights without any problems what-so ever. I have recommended this to friends and neighbors. November 2, 2012
