After one week, the second one my husband ordered failed. To our surprise, this thing has no warranty. If the manufacturer doesn't trust it, neither do I.
Fortunately Home Depot gave us our money back... No thanks to the manufacturer. Home Depot should dump this product until the maker puts a reasonable warranty on it.

When I tried to remove the rear screws to get to the battery compartment (so I wouldn't have to run off a 50 foot AC cord), a couple of the screws already had the screw heads stripped from installation at the factory and I could not remove the screws/panel. This will be going back

The bark smart works well on most dogs, my neighbor has a dog that will bark no matter what , but the unit worked very well with their other two dogs they stopped barking within a week. Power cord is very long. My only complaint is the unit only swevils left to right but not up and down.

At 25' and through a fence this thing still works, though the specs suggest it won't. My neighbor's dogs will start with a low woof, then esculate until the unit goes off. End of noise. I am buying a second unit to cover the other side of my house.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by abc1243 This product was very disappointing
The ad promised so much but the delivery of effectiveness was poor. Unless the dogs bark was right in front of the mechanism it was not effective.

I have a Great Pyrenees puppy, about 6 months old. I bought this product because he is a HUGE barker. He goes outside just to bark--and he does it non-stop all day long. Since I live in a suburban neighborhood with 1/4 plots, his barking is, I'm sure, a disturbance to the neighbors--I know when their dogs bark it annoys me!
Upon opening the product which we bought on the website, we found that we were unable to get one of the battery compartment screws out. Instead of returning the product to the store my husband broke the screw. Now the box isn't exactly weather tight. We set it up under the eaves of the house in the backyard where the dog is. The backyard is divided, so he has about a 25x30 foot area with no obstructions.
I set it to audible so that I could be sure it was working. It worked when he was nearby, and it worked when we slammed the door or when the kids were yelling. But once he got about 20 feet away (we have the 50 foot version) it no longer sounded. When it did sound, the audible alarm was not loud, but painfully high-pitched. It traveled into the house and made me concerned about our hearing.
The dog in the next-door neighbor's yard has stopped barking--but mine hasn't! Maybe just a coincidence or maybe it works as described on neighbor dogs!
I plan to keep using it for another few weeks to see if the situation improves, but it doesn't seem to bother him. I know he can hear it, because he turns his head when it goes off, but it doesn't stop the undesired barking.
I probably should have just spent the $100 on a bark collar, instead.
