We Love our Smoke Hollow Smoker! This is our second one as we wore the other one out after 5 years. The heat is even and it smokes to perfection.

First, let me say that we have already smoked three batches of meat: pork, turkey and tuna. All turned out excellent. How you prepare your meat prior to smoking (marinade, brine, or whatever), will make a huge difference to your result. We found that the meat tends to get a little dry, so be sure to keep your water pan full. Maybe playing with the temperature or time will have an effect. Nuf said about that.
The smoker itself is an excellent design and the materials are all good quality. Factory assembly left a little to be desired. If you are handy with hand tools, you can probably deal with it. The unit does need some assembly. Everything is supplied (except tools), and the instructions are adequate.
We found the temperature controller to be difficult to set precisely, so you will probably need to go by the thermometer on the door, to actually control the temperature. Once you figure it out, you'll do OK.
Lastly, (and maybe this should have been first), when the unit arrived, the smoker was dented and beat up. I'm not sure if this occurred in shipping, or during manufacture. I straightened out what I could, and had to leave the rest. The damage on my smoker wasn't terrible, but I have read other reviews on this same smoker, which had exactly the same complaint, and some people apparently had worse damage. This is too bad because this is otherwise an excellent smoker. Our results have been very good, so if I had it to do over again, I would still get the same smoker.

I've had this smoker for a couple of years now. Everything works okay but you'll want to modify the bottom grate where the water and wood box sit. The wood box won't make good smoke the way it's setup You'll want to cut the grates off under the wood box so it sits directly on the heating element. The smoker works good but you'll have to babysit this like a destructive 2 year old. The temp doesn't stay consistent and will usually vary 10-15 degrees and will need to be adjusted as outside temps rise and when the sun hits it.
I would recommend this to someone just wanting to start smoking or trying to figure out if they want to do this. However, you'll want to move up to a digital fairly quickly if you plan to smoke meats regularly.

Great little smoker, very easy to assemble. Temp guage is spot on. If I could change anything... need just one additional rack. At least one more rack being available to even purchase would be perfect. Yet, I am making it work. Great Product.

I've used mine 3 weekends in a row since purchase. It is very easy to use. The temp is easy to control. All and all its a very good smoker!!!

Great and easy to use. I have a wood fired smoker and have always had difficulty keeping the heat just right. this is simple to use and just set the heat and leave it alone and let it do its thing. I've had it just a short while but after cooking brisket on it last weekend my neighbor ordered on as well. Cooked 4 racks of ribs and a brisket all at once. Smoked brisket for 6 hours, wrapped it up in foil and cooked it another 6 while I took the family on the lake. it was perfectly tender, juicy and delicious when we got back to the lake house. Ribs I smoked for 3 hours, wrapped in foil and cooked another 2 hours. took them off the heat and let them slowly cool while we were out and they were fantastic as well.
