This is the first smoker I have owned. Assembly was very easy. The instructions for smoking were easy to follow and the first time I used it, dinner turned out perfectly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mitch Great smoker at the price point
I've used the smoker twice to cook sausages, ribs and a brisket. It is easy to set up (for an average joe like me about 90 minutes) and easy to maintain temperature. It heats up quickly. I also bought a cover to keep it In food shape and mat to catch drippings.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by griller arrived damaged
I like the smoker. The design of the two doors are nice. However, the temperature gauge isn't accurate.
My main disappointment was that it was banged up in the box. A rubber mallet helped with some of that.

Well written easy to follow assembly instructions, a well engineered, well made and easy to use smoker; easy on the propane also. Heats up very quickly, stable temperatures and most important of all great eats. Have done chicken, baby back and Kansas City ribs so far, all delicious. Looking forward to a turkey. Easy does 8 racks baby backs..

The Smoker arrived and was very easy to put together, and came with al teh parts and accessories required. Only a wrench and screwdriver were necessary.
The upper front door was bashed in (took a hit from a fork lift likely- right through the outer packaging) and I had to call and order a new door. A higher-end glass door arived as a replacement which was great on the part of the company.
The first time we smoked something after conditioning the unit it was hassle free and worked quite well; my spouse is a trained chef and her expectations are high to begin with. It's a good cost-value for an entry to mid-level smoker.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by psychogardener Outstanding product!
I researched a variety of smokers. I didn't want the limitations associated with electric, so it was out from the start. Pellet smokers offered a high level of ease, but were consistently reported to provide limited smoke flavor. Offset wood smokers (my previous smoker) provide great smoke flavor, but require a lot of monitoring. In the end I thought I would try a gas one after reading they may not provide as much flavor as wood or require as little effort as the pellet smokers, but were some of both. I decided not to invest a great deal of money in it in case it didn't meet my expectations and I found this unit to combine a good price with good reviews. Boy was I in for a treat! Once I got used to the settings, maintaining it is very little work, even for a long brisket smoke. And flavor? I love strong smoke flavor and this cooked my ribs plenty smokey for me. So far I have cooked 4 briskets, 3 turkey breasts, and a dozen or so racks of ribs, all with great results! I have been a backyard smoker for decades, learning to love it in Texas and this unit is GREAT! Assembly was straightforward, although I am the type that reads the instructions, gets all the tools in place, and uses a well-lighted area. One bit of advice, make sure the floor is light colored in case you drop one of the bolts, nuts, washers, etc., which are all black. The unit did come in with a dent in it as many people noted, but it doesn't interfere with performance and frankly I have come to expect dents with UPS. I frequently have to return items they ship, sometimes twice, because they are so rough with them. I never ship UPS unless the item is indestructible or meaningless. As far as the front door leaking, that's true, but smokers need to leak. It's a simple matter of closing the damper more, where most of the escape occurs anyway so I have no intention of installing a seal. Final thoughts? Buy a wireless meat thermometer you can stick in and leave in your meat to avoid drying it out (and use tongs for handling, not a meat fork). Before cutting, let meat sit for at least 20 minutes after taking it out to allow juices to return to the cells. Buy something to put under the grill to catch the juices (I just threw a piece of plywood), and buy a cover for it so it will last longer. If this dies in 5 years, I'll just buy another one like it!
