This smoker is heavier and sturdier than I expected. The manufacturing and fit and finish is excellent. The freight shipping was great, they only drop at the road but the driver was kind enough to lower it into my dad's pickup bed so we could bring it to the house. Took an hour or more to put it together, but it went well and I fired it up right away, great! I burn nothing but mesquite (here in AZ) and so far it's perfect. I am extremely happy, this is a great product at a FANTASTIC price!

Good Value for the money, assembly is not easy and takes some time. Could use more instruction to season the smoker on his first heating if someone is not experienced.

My husband has a professional meat smoker at home that ran a few grand, but we needed something at the camp so we could smoke some ribs, pork and chicken for our friends and family. Though the metal is not the 1/4" steel that he is always bragging about, he loves this as it's a bit smaller and holds in the smoke and heat. We tried a cheaper brand that rusted out within a year, but this should definitely hold up much longer.

If you don't want to spend 2k on a cast iron smoker, this one will get the job done better than any other commercial smoker I have used in the past. the steel is a heavier gauge than other commercial smokers, great firebox, vent etc.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lock great smoker
I have been smoking for about 10 years now I started out with the cheap little char grill smoker( that I had converted to a reverse flow smoker). I switched to this because I can fit a 17 lbs brisket 2 8 lb butts and 3 racks of baby backs on it at one time. I get the usual smoke leakage around the lid, but other than the there is no smoke leakage. Smoker is solid thicker than the Brinkman higher end smokers. Then next line up from this smoker will run you around 2000$. Very happy with this smoker.

large cooking area: I smoked a full chicken and 7lb beef tenderloin at same time! So easy to adjust heat with the dampers and/or adding charcoal. Easy to cure, clean, and maintain. Wish it came with a cover and drip bucket. Overall, very satisfied.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tater There is a simplicity to this product.
When using this smoker, there is some definite work overseeing the function over a period of six to eight hours. The rewards of slow cooking (on my first try) were unexpectedly greater than first thought.
The shipping was received at my convenience and worked out very well. Thank you
