Not a very air tight unit. Makes it tough to control the temperature. I am leery that this will rust out after a short period of time due to thin walled material. This is basically an expensive throw away grill.

I ordered this item online, but the in-store experience was a return of the item. I didn't even open the item before returning it. I found a different Smoke Hollow model that I liked a lot better so I just took the one I received back to the store for a refund to my PayPal account. I can't comment or recommend the one that I returned as I didn't use it.

This is our first tri fuel Grill. It arrived at my house I was really looking forward to a nice grilled steak that evening but took me till next day to finish putting it together some of the holes were not drilled right and even the warmer on the gas side the lest hole does not go all the way thru so the pin for the warmer does not go in all they was and then blocks the left grate so you have to slide it over to remove the grate. once together I sat the propane bottle on hooked it up and tried to lite the side burner we would not spark had to crimp the connecter wire so it fit tight in the knob housing. then it take some times a dozen tries before it will lite. the gas burners in the grill worked much better the grill reached 350 quickly help 350 on all three burners on low so was able to cure that sid let it cool and now to the charcoal side. oh forgot to mention, the smoke stack and flap were not in the box so had to call and was told they would be here 7-10 days so Anywho, Also the steel legs are all different legnths or where they drilled the mounting holes because the grill wobbles on level tile also the small wheels dig into the dirt if you try to move it from your shed to the cooking area I followed the directions for the curing I used a weber charcoal starter when it came time to dump coals into the grill guess what the coal started does not fit well enough to dump hot coals managed to get most of them into the small tray, Also they say in the info page on HD that it has 1k+sq cooking area but this is split between the gas side and the charcoal side and the smoker box so really the cooking are is very small can not do more then one full rack of ribs placed diag across the grill surface the biggest trouble is that this grill has so many air leaks you can not control the charcoal heat. I had everything closed off and the grill kept shooting up over 500 had to keep lifting the lid to let heat off and the curing process says 300 to 400 degrees both lids gas and charcoal side fit bad with about an inch of space on the outsides of both lids on the gas side it has a large gap on left side of lid front and coal side it is the right side front almost like they were on the wrong sides, kinda scary to have a charcoal fire getting way to hot next to a 20 pound bottle of gas make ya think about maybe taking bottle off the nest time you was to charcoal grill. So in closing for the price and because of parts missing and the dents and scrapes and bolts not fitting where they are supposed to go and air leaks if I had not thrown away the box I would prolly try to return it. But buyer beware, I would not recommend this grill in fact I really feel the company needs to pre assemble this grill before boxing it up and sending it to customers. In the mean time I think being these grill are not QC'd by the makers that Home Depot needs to pull this item from the sellable list until such time as they start QC'ing their products.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Paul Built to rust
This grill is designed to rust out from the inside. It purposefully collects rainwater in the flimsy metal cooking chamber and rusts out. All the burners and lids are attached to the body of the grill, which is designed for rainwater to sit in it. Every other grill on the market is designed for rainwater to fall off the lid and onto the floor/ground. I have owned it 4 1/2 years, promptly rusted apart after 4. Dutifully cleaned/maintained other than the rainwater, I suppose. Properly cured as per instructions when purchased.
Also, the 3 burner setup on the propane side never seemed to get as hot as other grills. The smoker box is poorly designed for access (virtually impossible to safely tip a hot chimney starter full of coals through the flimsy opening.

I bought this grill for my boyfriend's birthday. He absolutely loves the way it works and it has a very sleek appearance. He tries to find excuses to barbecue in it as much as possible. It was definitely worth every penny.

For the price i expected a larger grill surface. I could have done a better job looking at the dimensions before i bought it. Was not too difficult to put together but 4 out of the 8 bolts to the firebox were not drilled properly so i did without. I will have to go back later and file the openings to get the bolts in. My other choice was to call the 1-800 help number and wait for another or walk me through a fix. After un-boxing...not worth it. The gas grill side is good but the side burner does not work properly so i have to use a match to light. The smoker works good and cooks evenly. Overall an average grill but for the price was expecting more.

The smoker grill was purchased online from Texas and delivered to HomeDepot in Mesa, AZ where it was picked up by daughter-in-law for my son's Christmas present. No shipping charges and delivered on time. Great transaction!

When the grill was lit for the first time, the paint bubbled up on the backside. The metal on this grill is thin and I could've bought a cheaper grill for the same quality.
