Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Still feels like I hand shoveled The good thing about this electric shovel over a shovel that you manage all on your own is that it does move the snow away a lot further from the area you're clearing. I've only used it on light, powdery snow and it worked well. I haven't tried it on wet snow yet. If the area you are clearing is uneven, you're going to find yourself lifting this electric snow shovel over every little bump....and it gets really heavy after doing this a lot. So instead of lifting heavy shovels full of snow, I was lifting a heavy electric snow shovel! What it needs are wheels on the back side. That way, the wheels give a fulcrum allowing the shovel to move easily over the area you just cleared with the front part of this machine. Then when you're done, you can wheel it back into the garage. Another down side is that there's no directing the snow. It goes straight ahead. When I use a regular shovel, I always move the snow to the side of the path I'm walking. With this electric shovel, I have to travel back and forth across the path. Or shoot the snow towards the house on my first pass to get to the door. Then work my way away from the house and shovel the area again as I throw snow on the path I cleared to get to the door. I only used the electric shovel in daylight, so I don't know if the LED light is any value. I do know that the light did get covered with snow as I used the shovel. All-in-all, if this machine had wheels so that I could easily glide it over uneven surfaces, I would probably recommend it even though the snow only shoots straight ahead. Or if I had asphalt or even concrete pathways, this machine might do well. But I have pavers and wooden decks and stepping stones separated by grass....and using this electric shovel is just as much work as using a regular shovel. December 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs a cord they don't tell you about I haven't used it yet. Just took it out of the box to assemble it in preparation for the snow, and realized it needs an extension cord and not just any extension cord a 14 gauge. Who has one of those just laying around? So I had to go on to amazon and buy one and pay expedited shipping to have in in time for the arrival of the snow. Some where in the description or on the box it should tell you this cord is needed. I will update once I've used the product. Assembly instructions could also be a little more detailed January 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works exactly as described What is it with poor reviews.. You had to buy a cord! Ridiculous! Read the description. Look at the pictures. Oh it only throws snow out the front. No kidding that's what it is designed to do. My wife just cleaned a 30x16 deck with it and the snow was 12 inches deep. Take your time and don't push it too hard and you will not have to shovel anything. If the wind is howling your just going to have to work with the wind otherwise you will get a face full of snow. I bought this exact model at my Home Depot Store for $59. Wife and I love it. January 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Snow Joe Electric Shovel This snow remover has a lot of power and easily clears deep packed snow. For someone with good body strength, I would highly recommend it. The men who used it loved it and thought it was great. I was disappointed because it was simply too heavy for my aging body to handle (I need something with wheels). I gave the "value" rating five stars because I got it on a black Friday sale that made it well worth the money. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful Electric Shovel for Small Areas Powerful Electric Shovel for Small Areas I used this today to clear the walkway and part of the sidewalk and it worked great. It was super easy to set up (5 minutes). This shovel is very powerful, I was impressed because I never used an electric snow shovel before but I had seen my neighbor use his and he seemed to be struggling most of the times. This one is not for large areas, so if you are planning to do your driveway you will be disappointed. The snow blows straight up and forward, so depending on which way the wind blows, you will have all the snow blowing into your face. I had to calculate the wind direction because the first time all the snow blew on my face and all over my jacket. This is not one of those blowers you can switch the direction of where the snow blows, it always blows forward, this is the only feature I wish was adjustable…for example to blow to the side instead of forward because this blows snow back to the areas you already cleared. I still like using this because it’s powerful and instead of hurting my back shoveling heavy snow, I clear it with this and then finish off with a regular shovel to remove the excess light snow this left. This has been very efficient for clearing the snow off the apron of my driveway…you know the part that is difficult to shovel because the street snow plow truck throws back into your driveway. Overall, I enjoyed using this electric shovel. The cord is a bit annoying, but I got used to moving it out of the way. Once you used this a few times, you will get the hang of it. December 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Practical and Efficient Snow Removal for Small Areas The 324E Electric Snow Blower, also known as a Power Shovel is what the doctor ordered for moving up to 6 inches of snow off steps, decks, patios and walkways quickly and without a lot of effort. Since our deck has a high railing, tossing heavy shovelfuls of snow over the side again and again after a snowstorm gets pretty tiring. Also, cleaning around the steps and house is too tight of a fit for the regular snowblower. This power shovel by SnowJoe is exactly what we needed for those areas. It can move up to 300 pounds of snow per minute. Throwing it up and over most obstacles and out of the way. It's lightweight, powerful and so very easy to use. There is a safety switch on the big pistol grip handle and a large power switch that can be easily grabbed with a gloved hand. Plenty of room for the thickest of mittens and the second handle combined with the ergonomic design of the power pole make it a pleasure to use. No more strained backs, no more tossing snow up and over. This would be quite a welcome gift for seniors or those with back problems. We had a few snowfalls here and tried it out on the deck. It manages to remove the ice and snow almost right to the bare wood. There is a little bit left, but it's not enough to worry about. (See video) It threw the snow over the railing and about ten feet into the yard. Perfect. It felt plenty powerful and never bogged or slowed down. It instantly hits top speed when you pull the trigger and continues to throw the snow where you want. SnowJoe says if you have more than 6 inches of snow to use the power shovel to remove layers six inches at a time. The powerhead has a good sized LED light, and it does shine nice and brightly, but since it's being used on porches and decks, I'm not sure where it would come into great use for most people. It's a nice feature though and would be helpful if your porch has no lights. Couple this power shovel with up to a 50 foot extension cord and it can reach just about anything near your home. The handle has a built in extension cord holder, no worries of pulling the cord apart while using. This isn't designed to be something you clean an entire driveway or city sidewalk with. I suppose you could if you really wanted to, but it would take forever. It works perfectly for it's intended purpose of decks, patios, steps and such. It has a two year warranty (you must ship it back to claim the warranty), and it's nice to see that the paddle style rotor is replaceable by the owner should you hit something and break it or simply wear it out. You can contact SnowJoe for the replacement part if you ever need it. Maintenance, if you can even call it that, is quick and painless. Just clean the snow off of it and that's it. No oiling, no greasing anything. Just clean it up and put it away until you need it next. It's so much fun to use, you might not even have to tell the kids to go clean up the snow! Then again, once you use it, you may want to have all the fun yourself! November 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not ideal in windy weather but otherwise good tool Living in Idaho, we were slammed with two days of snow. I had back surgery this year so chucking heavy snow is something that could land me back in the hospital. I used the snow shovel to clear off a foot of snow off the 20x20 foot composite deck. It was able to chuck the snow over the railing. When the snow is over 6 inches high, it blocks the chute so you can get around that limitation by only doing 1/2 the shovel width wise through the snow at a time. It was like pushing a heavy vacuum cleaner and took me 35 minutes. I had to stop when the wind picked up because it blew snow in a mist everywhere and snow was back where I had shoveled. The snow was light and fluffy but some places had chunks and the blower garbled it and chucked it. The blades are a hard plastic the machine is loud like a old vacuum cleaner. This is useful and I will use it to clear my sidewalk to the mailbox and a path to the trash bin. It is light enough to hang on the garden tools wall hook. December 22, 2015
