The electric motor just isn't heavy duty enough to perform for hours on end moving snow. Mine died at the beginning of the second season, just when I was about to brag to everyone how great this thing was. I used a 90' long 14g extension cord, and plowed through snowfalls from 4" - 9 " in depth during the first winter. The motor burned out while clearing a 5" snow the following winter, being just over 1 year old. These electrics aren’t bargains when they only last one or two seasons. I now have a gasser and couldn’t be more pleased.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ELA This Blower does a swell job
Easy and quick assembly. Strong motor, really throws snow far. Clears an adequate swath quickly. Lightweight and easy to handle. So far we have only used this on relatively light snow and it works very well. We purchased for clearing paths in the snow in our yard for our dog, Although advertised for use on pavement, where it works very well, we found it works well over flat grassy surfaces as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Minflow Works well but understand it's limitations
Works well for intended use. It's not for areas where you average 30 feet of snow a year or get more than 12" in a single fall. Will not move wet, heavy snow well - wet snow will clog the discharge chute often. Doesn't sling slush.
What it does do well is move 3-5 inches of snow off your walkways or driveway. I have a 100' paved driveway. Used to take 3 hours to shovel 4" of snow. This machine will throw the snow off the entire drive in less than 30 minutes. Start in middle, walk length of drive, turn around, rotate chute, walk down drive again. If you have a kid to manage the cord it make it even easier. As fast as it is, even with a big snow fall, it's nothing to go out every 5" of buildup and clear it. Well worth the couple hundred dollars not to blow up your back.
Don't even have to worry if it will start next season or if you have gasoline or not.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rog667 Good value
Just got to use this for the first time, on a light fluffy snow of about 4". Easy to use, and no issues with this light of a snowfall. But one thing I noticed that I might be willing to upgrade to a higher model in the future.... Adjusting the throw height is needed more often than I expected when I clear one side of the house. On this model that's a manual adjustment, unlike the accessible handcrank to turn the thrower left and right. Works well for the cost, and held up when I hit some small stones, branches, and even hit a brick with no damage to the blades. Good product.

Purchased this snow blower this year and have used it twice. First snow, about 8", was a breeze, no issues at all. I have a rock drive and parking area and the unit works well on a rock surface, just need to keep the front from digging into the rock. Second snow, close to 12", was wetter but the snow thrower worked well, just took more time. Sometimes in the wet snow ice/snow will stick to the plastic wheel and wedge against the body of the thrower. Not a major issue and an easy to remove from the wheel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Matt STOPPED WORKING AFTER THREE USES!
I read reviews and thought this one was the best for me. I even ordered the PowerJoe chord from the SnoeJoe website. Chord works great, the blower died after three uses with 2 to 6 inches of snow. I returned it for store credit and will get something else. Even though the warranty is good I don't want this to happen again. Not worth the risk to me.

Sure, it does not have the same torque as a gas snow thrower, but it has a strong electric motor to get the job done. Didn't think I would need the light, but it has come in handy on those early morning and late evening clearings. Light weight and easy to use.
