We just had a new deck built, over 700 sq ft. I installed 24 of these solar powered lamps on the 4x4 post. In the last month we have had rain, and extreme heat. Every single night all 24 lamps light up. Some don't last as long as others, they are out my 2 am. I believe its because they are in the shade under the tree so they cant charge up as well. overall this was a big expensive gamble, and I am pleased to say it paid off. The deck looks amazing all lit up at night, the lamps gives off enough of a glow to softly illuminate the 20x40 foot pool without being too bright. Also, it comes with hanging hooks, well I didn't use them for the lamps so I re-purposed some of them into parts of the deck side railing as towel hangers.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jockrx7 Box says will fit 6x6 and guess what? It doesnt!!!
Seriously h.d., why stock a product like this that lies right off the bat? The directions were written by a 5 th grader who never worked with this product. After getting home and simply making the attempt to slide these on a normal 4x4 post with a vinyl sleeve created the problem. For some reason, the instructions dont address vinyl railings, which many americans have! Im looking all over and in the box for some sort of adapter to fit 6x6. None found and directions completely blow off! Other issue is color choice. Why isnt white offered? Dont buy causr apparently if you do get them mounted, they wont work for long anyway. They were the most expensive in stock and this is an example of not getting what you pay for.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kerleen Product barely lasted one season
When first installed the lights looked beautiful, but within a month some worked all the time, some worked every other day. I purchased 8 sets of lights for 2 houses, now I am down to 6 lights that work. Please do not purchase these lights unless you plan n replacing them yearly

Straight of of the box (after charging) one did not work. Returned, new ones, one works as intended, the other just stays on. Total garbage, don't waste your money, Home Depot shouldn't even carry them.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Moose They kept me in shape
I bought two sets last spring. Three of the four worked OK for a couple of days. Then none worked. I took them back for replacements twice after that. Then I tried new batteries (had to buy them elsewhere because HD doesn't carry them). Worked for awhile. Found out that it wasn't the battery that made them turn off. The cheap on/off switch wouldn't stay in the "on" position. The slightest vibration from a breeze would turn them off. I'd go over and tinker with the switch and I moved it just right, they would stay on....until the next breeze. This year, I'll spend a little more and buy something that actually works. At least I got some exercise, constantly going outside to try to turn them back on.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dan Piece of Junk DON'T BUY THESE
This is March 2016. I bought 8 of these in June 2015. Of the 8, 3 still work. I've taken them apart, water inside on the electronics, cleaned the deposits the water left and can't seem to get any working. What a waste of money. Unfortunately I bought them in the store so I didn't see these reviews first.

Easy to install, Look appealing but that's about it. They are poorly designed and after few rainy days they start leaking around the solar panel area. That panel had barely any glue on it holing it in place + sun just makes it pull apart. That allows water to get in under the solar panel and into the circuitry. 1st I noticed that the light sensor area would get foggy. After that they just stop working (probably because the water shorts out all electronics. I bought 4 of them. Within 1st month 1 of them stopped working, (It wasn't raining much that month). Next month another 2 failed to work. All because of the same reason. Water in electronics. Besides that, the clear plastic covering the solar panel gets discolored (after only 2 months!!!) Unless you're planing on replacing them on monthly basis (if not more) and keeping them under the roof and away from sun, do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY THOSE. Pay a little bit more and get something that actually works and lasts a while.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrated False packaging
The box says they will fit a 6X6 post, the bottom to install will only fit a 4X4 post. Not worth the money or effort if they can't get their own information correct on the packaging. We are taking these back.
