Thought I was getting the greatest mower. Thought I was doin the right thing by "going green". If my grass never grew or got wet then this would be a great mower. If you try to conserve water by letting your grass get over 3 inches tall then don't by this mower. Any wetness in your grass will stop this mowers blades cold. It took me over 4 hours to cut my 40x80 yard. The motor would stop (overheating??) and I would wait 15 min then mow another row and it would stop and so on. I am returning it this Friday and getting an electric start gas. I bought this so my wife wouldn't have to pull start a mower. Let down huge.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Embomer Solaris Self-Propelled Cordless Electric Mower
This mower far exceeded my expectations. The Solaris is a very powerful mower. The rear bag is a good size so I didn't have to empty it as often. I have a fairly good sized yard and the battery "JUST" lasts long enough.
I did buy a second set of batteries just in case the grass is extra long and takes more power to cut.
The mower is very quiet. The first time I cut the lawn with it my wife didn't even know that I was cutting the lawn.
It is a heavy mower so the self propelled feature is a must
I would definitely recommend this mower.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Canucklehead306 Dreadful. Genuinely dreadful.
The tolerable bits: The device is easy to assemble. It's easy to use when it works.
Everything else: This mower suffers from a lack of power overall. The batteries hold their charge for mere minutes, dying off quickly. You cannot mow even a small yard in a single charge, regardless of if you use the power-assist or not. When the batteries die, the mower chirps at you for attention, then angrily beeps that it is being ignored. Avoid this mower, absolutely avoid it. There are dozens of better ones on the market.

Based on the reviews from Home Depot and everywhere else I looked, I was pretty excited to use this mower. I followed the instructions for first time use and was set to go...
Well the thing kept on dying on me. It took me three days to cut my lawn. When it was working it worked great, but if the battery can't carry a charge for me to cut my postage stamp property I think there is a problem.
I assume the only problem is the battery, but I didn't think its fair to buy a new battery when I bought the mower brand new. When I returned the mower, there were a few more Solaris mowers lined up in the return area. So I would have to think that other people had the same problem. I think Solaris needs to take a look at the battery system, or it was just a bad batch of batteries sent to Edmonton.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by grm42 Great Product - Great Buy
End of season sale at $329 for the self-propelled model. At this price, I couldn't resist.
No more gas, oil, filters, smell, fumes, noise, tune-ups, spark plugs, and on and on.
This has got to be one of the best buys ever. The mower cuts as well as any comparably priced gas mower, mulches just as well (or better). Over 30 years of cutting grass and hating every minute. Except now, I actually look forward to it.
The self-propelled function works great & is well worth the extra $30.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by freemusic Solaris 21 inch electric mower
I bought this product as I have arthritis and needed an electric start lawnmower. This machine is constantly stalling.
I'm very disapointed as I still have not been able to figure out how to install the side piece for the grass to blow out of. The catch bag is a pain to constantly empty.
I should have bought a gas lawnmower with a electric start. If I'm still having problems in another week this will be going back to Home Depot!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by boots61 How to get rid of your gas
I would give the Solaris 10 stars if I could. It is so nice not to deal with gas or cords. The batteries have enough power to cut our lawn three times (20 min. each) without having to recharge. This was discovered after dethatching. We just bagged the clippings by mowing them twice. The start up after the winter was no problem as well. The tires are so durable and large that most of the time I don't need to use the self-propelled feature but it is nice when needed on a slope. Changing heights is very easy to do with one lever. Cleaning underneath is a breeze since there is no gas to leak out. The bag is very easy to take on and off. The only con to buying this from Home Depot in store was that the salespeople in two store locations tried to steer us to the same gas powered lawn mower. We are so pleased that we insisted that we were there to buy the Solaris.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Paulinee This mower is a very good idea that has not yet succeeded. The self propelling wheels moves the mower too fast and it bogs down and dies. After 30 seconds it would not start again. The high tech led lights indicated there was a motor fault in the brushless powerful motor. The home depot customer service department was very fast and friendly in returning my money. He said there had been several cordless mowers returned.
