Our living room has 6 windows and gets full (hot summer) sun from about noon on. These curtains not only keep the sun out perfectly, even when pulled slightly back, they help keep the room cooler. I tried others before these, and these are by far the best!!

Got these to block sunlight from coming into video room. Very nice. I suggest to buy in multiples at one time. I bought one and went back later to get a 2nd and had a hard time matching the correct shade of black.

I bought these curtains yesterday (9/17/15) at my local Home Depot. I was hesitant on paying $20/panel when I wasn't sure how well they cover, if they can withstand a sun flare , etc. Now my local store has samples on display so you can feel and rub on your face of the curtains they have. I compared these to other brands and noticed that compared to other brands they were better quality for a medium price (they had $26/panel ones that were not as light blocking as they say). I would recommend these curtains to everyone because they really do work. It is a bit after 5pm, I have my glass of wine, and I closed my curtains (I have 5 large windows in my living room I might add) and I can't tell it is daylight out. All this being said, if you are concerned about light coming through most likely the other reviewers have it coming from the top of the curtains because the rod sticks out 2 1/2 inches from the wall on the bracket and/or from the bottom because the curtain is NOT floor length, also another reason the light can come in is if you are using those fancy rods to hang them, unlike the traditional curtain hangers (the ones that look like two L pieces you have to put together and they are cheap! $2-$3) that allow the curtains to touch the wall on both sides, Those fancy rods stick out causing light to come in all around. I must clarify that my living room gets all day light especially that annoying sun-going-down-that-blinds-you when-your-driving-west-light, and these curtains are definitely worth being able to sit comfortably in my living room and not go blind.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nicolle Love them!!!!!
I'd give them more than five stars if I was able to. I did a lot of research, and even visited several stores ranging from Walmart to Pottery Barn in an attempt to find something decent. None of them seemed thick enough to do what I needed them to do. Randomly, I looked at Home Depot's site, and discovered these. The reviews were all positive, but I was skeptical for the price. I purchased them with the sad thought that I'd probably have to just return them. I immediately hung them when I got home when the afternoon sun and heat were beating down on the bedroom windows they were intended for. Imagine my surprise when they vastly exceeded my expectation!!!! They block out 100% of the light (assuming you have the right curtain rod so the curtain lays flush against the top and sides of your wall). I am in love with these and fully intend to go by more for one other room in my house. They do exactly what they say they will without the hefty price other places charge for a lesser curtain. I highly recommend these to anyone truly trying to blackout a room in the daytime. They're ideal for people, like me, who work at night with the added bonus that I can already feel the temperature in the room dropping since no light is filtering in.

These curtains are perfect in our media room. They give it a movie theater feel. They are heavy enough to block the light and still attractive. Easy to put on a dowel two different ways, and they hang straight.
