Customer Questions & Answers

If I can order longer liners on-line, how can you do it with no length choices on-line?

I need the 102" length - like Rene asked about.
Asked by: Scooter
The answer from Customer Support is so typical Home Depot. There is a sign in each store stating that there are more sizes online and listed the size you and I are after. I got them on Amazon.

It comes packaged as a pair of panels, narrower than your curtain panel, I suppose so that you can use them with different width curtains. It does mean that there will be light leakage where they overlap, unless it works out that you can use the nice velcro strips that are supposed to attach them.

So, using a spring rod, I installed the curtain over the door. The curtain really does block out the drafts and the light ! An excellent product!

Blackout curtains came with hooks that allowed them to be attached to existing curtains, went up quickly after being shortened, and are very effective at blocking out sunlight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do as they promised I got these for two large, west-facing windows in my house, when I switched from heavy drapes to much lighter ones. I use the blackout liners in place of sheers, and I can tell you that they work VERY well. It is winter right now, and I can feel the difference when sitting by the window in terms of how much chill comes off of it versus before. They also block light very well. They have velcro in the middle so you can ensure both panels stick together. Some light does come through the pinholes that were created by sewing the seam at the top, but other than that, they really block out the light as well as you could expect them to. I can't wait to see how they impact the feel of our house in the blazing summer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice for office, not for bedroom I added these liners to sheer, white cotton curtains in my office (a tiny backyard cottage). The liners are great for reducing heat and increasing privacy. The fabric is easy to cut (no hemming required), and Velcro strips on the edge of each panel make it simple to join panels for wider windows. I was planning to use the liners in my kids' bedrooms, but the fabric has a slight chemical odor. Washing and air drying didn't remove it. (Care label suggests dry cleaning only.) Online research revealed nothing about the chemical used or the manufacturer, so I won't be using these liners in bedrooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value +++ These curtains are great. They block out most, if not all light. Texas is hot now and they help greatly to control the heat coming in from the large windows we have in our new home. The cost is very reasonable and there overall effectiveness far exceeds our expectations. I would highly recommend this product and I'm a very "picky" person. Shipment arrived quickly too! Kay

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great Works great at blocking the eastern sun out of my bedroom. Thanks to it my room is now the coolest in the house. I hung them on a second bar, below the nice curtains. But it come with drapery hooks incase you want to attach them to existing drapes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Happy! I Just Had the Best Sleep! I spent countless days online looking for the best blackout liner I could find. These are not only just what I hoped for, but the least expensive. It was worth every hour I put in. I had the best sleep, no waking at daybreak, and the dogs were fooled as well. I put the liners up with rings with clips and then put a panel of drape on each side to hide the blackout liner during the day. This is the only liner that has velcro to secure the individual panels to each other so no light creeps in. It works. The fabric is substantial and attractive, but not too heavy. I am impressed by how well they are finished. Even the packaging was impressive with the little packet of hooks tucked away inside. There is no odor as some people complained about and because they were packaged so well, once up they hang beautifully without wrinkles. I put another pair up in the guest room, also hidden under drapery during the day, and they are equally as wonderful. Some reviews complained about the width not being exact or the liner not long enough: If you want to ensure there is no light creeping out of the sides, splurge and get an extra set. The length is perfect for its purpose as it is not supposed to be used as a finished drape. It is probably about a foot off the ground when hung as high to the ceiling as possible.
