Looks like the picture after assembled. There's too much overhang on the edges to use composite board, it will easily crack if you sit or kneel on the side edges of the bed. Instructions were confusing as it was unclear which sides of the composite wood went on top. there's nothing on the bottom of the frame to prevent damage to a hardwood / laminate floor. For the price, it's ok. Should have built my own for better quality.

I purchased this bed frame and was extremely disappointed to find that it was split down the middle when opening the box. I'm sure this happened during shipping, but the product is obviously not sturdy or good quality if it cracks that easily. I would be scared to sleep on this flimsy material.

The box it comes in is VERY LARGE AND VERY HEAVY. You may not have the space in a standard car for it and you'll deff need two people to carry/load it.
Assembly is pretty easy, directions are clear, but it does take two people to put together.
Once assembled, it is pretty sturdy, the boards do creak a bit, I still haven't found a solution to this.
*Not sure if this is noted anywhere but according to the manufacturers website, the maximum weight capacity for this bed is up to 500lbs INCLUDING the mattress. Keep that in mind.
Overall is a good bed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kish Great Platform bed for the price
I am for the most part pleased with my purchase of the bed and the easiness of assembling it. However when I opened the box one of the boards was broken which didn't make me too happy. But I'm not the first one this happened to from what I read so I wasn't all that surprised. I tried to glue it then wrap tape around it because I didn't want to be bothered with trying to return it. Once I put it together is seemed to hold in place. The frame on the foot part of the bed did not have the black finish on either side, which was a little confusing to me so I just painted it black myself, but for the price I could only expect so much. Therefore I must say I'm pleased and enjoy restful nights with my new platform and mattress.

I recently bought a memory foam mattress and needed a bedframe with a flat bottom so for the price I doubt you can find a better deal on a platform style bed. The wood itself is a plywood material but it feels sturdy enough and I haven't had any issues after about a month of use.
As for assembly the instructions were straightforward and it didn't require any extra tools, I put it together by myself in about 45min. Be warned that you may need a truck or an suv to get the box home, it was around 6 feet long and over a hundred pounds.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wendy Exactly what I expected
First, many people have complained about broken pieces etc. The South Shore customer service team is incredible. We were missing a piece (which is not uncommon with furniture kits like these) and I called on Sunday, took about 5 minutes on the phone to have a replacement piece shipped and received the piece on Friday (at my apartment, not the store). I'm guessing South Shore would have the same service for broken pieces and the reviewers didn't put any effort to clear up the issue, just wrote a review to complain.
This bed is exactly as I expected and I mean that in a good way. It is true that the corners you can see the platform wood and you should only buy this if you plan to have the head of the bed against a wall or add a headboard or you will be able to see the unfinished wood. Keep in mind, the bed is incredibly inexpensive. If looks are you main concern you should consider a more decorative bed made of high quality wood for 5 or 6 times the price.
As others have stated, the box is very large. Definitely requires two people to lift/carry. The exact dimensions of the box our bed was shipped in was 82" X 21.5" X 5" and we were able to fit it in a sedan by putting one of the back seats down and tying the trunk down (though it really wasn't sticking out). An SUV or truck would make things significantly easier.
I did not put the bed together myself but the person who did was able to do it completely alone. I think it is manageable if you are pretty strong.

We have a very high mattress and needed a lower platform. It could actually be a few inches higher, but it's strong, no squeaking or creaking. Came in a small box, but it made a queen. Was heavy at times. Easy to follow directions. All in all a good purchase.
