Although this chest of draws once put together is quite satisfactory I think the Company could have used either wood or particle board for the back of the drawer rather than cardboard. This would go along way to making the finished product considerably more steady and with that in mind the drawer bottoms should be made of wood as well. That way you can store items without fear of the bottom coming displaced. While I realize that would increase the price I think that the time and effort to put this item together would be worth the difference in cost.

Nice chest and solid built. Some new method of assembly for drawers to support bottom part.

Like the another reviewer, the materials came damaged, but that was easily hidden. We were also missing pieces, but the company was good about shipping those out to us. My biggest complaint was just how incredibly time-consuming and difficult this was to put together. It looks nice enough and works fine, but it's not great quality and was not worth the effort of putting it together.

I bought two matching chests for my six year old twins. The finish was shipped damaged, though not severely. The damage was easily hidden. It looks nice on the outside. The drawer slides are plastic, which makes it poor quality. There are no rollers to get stuck, but the plastic sticks anyway and is really difficult to pull out, especially for a six year old. The chest needs to be wall mounted for them to open the top two drawers without it falling on them, which makes rearranging their room difficult because it will leave a lot of holes in the walls. The bottom of the drawers are flimsy, so to make it all sturdier, I glued all the pieces together. The drawer slides are only pounded in, with no screws to hold it in place. The glue will help, but I would like to have a better quality piece of furniture. They will do for now, and I expect them to last two to three years.

As a starter set or for the kids room this is a practical yet inexpensive way to go. (Definitely secure to wall if used in the kids room.)
