Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite what I expected.... I will try and keep this brief and too the point. The product, when assembled, looks good and the wood feels rather sturdy for an item that is boxed and needs assembly. However, the downfall in this item is the manual -- the pics were backwards, the parts mislabeled (in the pics), and it's quite obvious whoever wrote the manual doesn't know English to save their life. What should have taken about 20mins to assemble took about two hours because there were times when following the directions when you're looking at what you're about to do and you realize.....this doesn't make a lick of sense. Honestly, throw the manual out and just do what feels right! Also, they wanted you to screw pieces together, but there were no pre-drilled holes on many pieces. So you had to hammer a screw in and then drive it the rest of the way by hand. As a result, some screws are not straight/flat and in all the way. So it can feel a little loose in some parts. They don't recommend using a power drill/driver, but after doing it all by hand myself, I probably would if I had to do it again. Lastly, there were no bolts/screws to secure it to my bed frame. I could be mistaken, but don't headboards come with these? So now I'm left trying to figure out what I need to connect it to my frame. Also, customer service from the manufacturer is a total joke. They're open until 5pm -- wow. I mean, really, most people are getting home from work between 4-6. It's nice you can email them, but phone or online chat for immediate assistance is more desirable. Overall, it looks nice once you get it assembled....but for the struggles I endured, I feel it certainly should have been a bit cheaper! August 6, 2012
