As a dad I have put together a lot of prefabricated furniture, and most of it is pure garbage. However, I was surprised by this little dresser. First, contruction is solid, the instructions are straight forward, and you don't have to glue anything. Second. all of the pieces for each step are bagged togethertogether. The best part was that the manufacturer was kind enough to include a bag of spare parts. I would definitely buy from this company again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tamara I purchased two of the 5-drawer chests along with two headboards and a night stand from this line. They arrived in 2 days! They were fairly easy to assemble, but rather time consuming. The drawer guides are plasic and they don't seem to glide too easily...I hope this will ease up over time. The drawer bottoms are made from dense cardboard...yikes! This was the same for the night stand and I'm glad I didn't buy the Mates Bed for my toddlers for this reason. The dresser drawers are only about 4 inches deep and I expected them to be deeper. The dresser looks very nice, even though I would rather it not be whitewashed. For a pressboard product, it seems to be a good value for the price. It sure looks pretty!

We bought this dresser about a year ago for our daughter. It is lovely. The bottom of the drawers is a bit flimsy, but a year later still in one piece, We just order the mates bed and headboard that go with this and are happy with those as well.

Good, solid dresser at a reasonable price. Easy to put together. It isn't a solid white, but rather a vanilla "wash", but I really liked the look of it (almost antique-looking). Just right for my girls' room.

After searching far and wide for a suitable dresser for my daughter's room we settled on the South Shore - 5 Drawer Chest. Our main criteria was, white and reasonaly priced.
The dresser was ordered online from the Home Depot web site. I was a little supprised that I was unable to have the unit shipped to my local Home Depot, this would have been the most convienient option whereas we are a working family and it is difficult to have someone home to sign for the package.
It arrived in only 4 days, we were impressed with the shipping time, however, one of the side pannels was damaged. After a number of tries I managed to get everything to fit back into the origional box without any large bumps sticking out.
I contacted Home Depot and was issued a return number. A new dresser was shipped and it arrived without any obvious flaws.
It was relitively easy to put together and looks very nice. Some of the materials are a a little "weak" for lack of a better term. The drawer rails are plastic and time will tell how well the hold up. It is primarily made of pressed wood product but seems sturdy enough. I would recommend this for a child / teen's room. Based on the price there is definite value for the money.
