I planted a gardenia bush last year in a pot. Kept in garage over winter. Brown leave now. I cut back each branch. Will it rebloom or is it dead?

Asked by: LuLu
Take one of the leaves and fold if it has any moisture the leaf will open if it crumbles the leaf is dead. Slowly go down the main tem to the root squeeze it. If it crumbles pull up the plant, if the roots are stuff and can brake easy then you can say it's dead. If the main stem has moisture then clip off the dead leaves and look up how to grow a healthy gardenias online

Will the leaves and flowers get bigger as the plant ages? Also the shipping company ignored the shipping signs, plant was tossed around and shipped on it's side so that a lot of dirt spilled out of the pot into the box before opening. Opened the box and gave it a good long drink of a couple of hours which perked it right up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Gift I have tried to send gardenias to my mom in FL before, and have called different florists, & had no luck. Someone told me Home Depot had a Gardenia plant that can be ordered & shipped, was really an amazing value- there were tons of flowers on the plant, and it made my mother VERY Happy.

This plant came full of buds and has not stop blooming since I received it, although the instructions and information about this plant says it blooms from late spring to the fall.. I just planted it 2 weeks ago (in December in Miami) . I am already starting to smell the aroma from it. I am very happy with this Jubilation Gardenia.

I was impressed with how healthy they were upon receipt. I have to say they've all developed new growth since planted and now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do well through the winter. Can't wait to see them flower for the first time next summer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Happy With This Purchase! I wanted to send my niece a gardenia plant for her birthday. Trying to find a decent plant online through a florist was very disheartening. The charges were astronomical! Between the price of the plant, the "handling" fees, and the delivery charges, the purchase price totals were out of sight! I decided to give Home Depot a look. I immediately liked what I saw. I ordered a 3 gallon plant for her, and the price and shipping were extremely reasonable. Granted it would not have all the fancy ribbons or wrap the florist would provide, but I wanted her to have a nice product, and not all the "fluff". It had arrived earlier than projected which made me happy, and the plant was absolutely gorgeous, nice size and full of buds and blooms!!! My niece loved the plant and sent me a photo of it right away. Thank you Home Depot! You made my niece and I very happy. Many thanks to all that was involved with this order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional I was very hesitant to purchase this online...so I put it in the "buying on the internet lesson" list and ordered it...the plants I received are outstanding...extremely healthy and well taken care of...I was also impressed by the shipping containers. Now if I can only keep them alive...all will be well!
