Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a great price vs. performance win. I was in the market for brush cutter, specifically. The tool arrived in a "some assembly needed" mode. As advertized, could have been ready in 15 minutes, but to familiarize myself, I took around an hour. This included carefully adjusting the handlebars and harness hang point for a good fit for me. The brush blade seemed a bit dull, so I sharpened before installing. Following starting procedure, it started and ran fine. Like any new tool, it seemed a bit "tight" at first and following recommendations, I avoided running it wide open until break in (10hrs.) It cut small diameter light brush well and handled well. I like the special curved handlebars - a good improvement over simple straight ones. There is some vibration with this machine which became more noticeable after extended use of almost 2 hours. On the 2nd outing, I put a carbide toothed circular blade on and cut a lot of 1/2" to 1 1/2" sapling growth. Very nice. I didn't notice the vibration as much, but I was using it intermittently for around 3 hours. It seems to have loosened up some and it seems to be doing fine. I think with my type of usage - which is only for brush cutting and only around 10 to 15 hours per season, it should be fine. It's not heavy duty enough for any kind of pro use or sustained brush use. It runs forever on a tank of fuel - I've always been ready to call it quits before it ran out! For the price point , I'm very satisfied with it. February 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brush Cutter This brush cutter is a decent buy but you get what you pay for. It has the power to cut through most light brush and can even take out small sapplings. I had to purchase a different blade system which increased the saws ability. Only two dissapointments with it when it was delivered the box was damaged and the trimmer head was missing. Also the shaft isn't very strong I would be cutting through small brush and trees and the shaft would be bent. Which after this would happen I would just straighten it out. Overall I would recomend this saw for light duty brush clearing. August 20, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Broke on 2nd Use I purchased this brush cutter to clear out some overgrown brush and rampant bamboo in our new rental home. The assembly and use the first time around was smooth and effective. Worked exactly as I needed and had hoped. Unfortunately, upon trying to use it a second time that afternoon, the pull start mechanism malfunctioned, with the cord not retracting, rendering it unusable. I called the manufacturer and they directed me to a small engine repair shop in the area (45 minutes away) for repairs under the warranty. Effective product, poor craftsmanship. You get what you pay for. June 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome combo Brush cutter and Weed trimmer, overall great power. This product has been really useful and is great compared to my old troybilt I have. It has way more power and I love the fact that it came with both a blade and weed trimmer. Very easy to change out from Blade to weed trimmer. It also came with it's first loaad of 2 cycle oil which made it easy for me to use after I assembled it. It wasn't rocket science to put together and took me about 15 minutes to do once I got thhe thing unpacked and read the instructions (about 10 minutes to do). Overkill on the packing which to me was great cause it assured that the product was meant to arrive undamaged. On a last note for the price I paid, This bush cutter exxceeded my expextations with it's features, power, and overall operating ease. Great product for the price. I used this a total of 12 hours with no starting or operating problems. June 12, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by carburater problem? It was easy to assemble. I sharpened the blade before use as it doesn't come very sharp. The blade seemed to be a little thin but works ok for finger size or smaller brush. It ran fine until it ran out of fuel, I only put about 1/3 tank in to start out with. After refueling it would not run right. It acted as though it was starved for fuel and I had to play with the choke to get it to speed up. I returned it to the store. June 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by falls apart as soon as u open box The attachment of the all important handle, with which you hold the machine, fell apart as soon as I mounted it. Moreover, it was a pain to start the engine, and then the blade would not move. All in all, you can tell this is a cheap piece, cutting corners, and sacrificing quality. I guess my learning is that a good brush cutter just will cost around $ 300, and trying to be skimpy on price won't work here. August 31, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A hands down, 4 star, card carrying good deal! Apart from IPS dropping the ball on shipping before a holiday, this machine is well worth the money. I conquered fourty year old Arborvitae with this handy yard necessity. It's not a brand S however, it doesn't cost six hundred bucks either. It's well built, operates flawlessly and with good care it will last as long as the big boys! PS: 30CC HP HOORAH !! June 16, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by this product is very cheaply made i had to keep the choke closed just to get it to run if i opened it to the run position it would die .the small bolts that hold the guard on twisted into while i was installing them .the look of the trimmer is nice the weight is good but an electric weed eater would have more power than this brush cutter its a joke April 14, 2013
