I'm a rather small woman who wants to build a fence. According to the description this machine weighs 39.7 pounds. That's great. But according to the description in holds 32 gallons of gasoline!! There is no way I could lift that much weight. Is the 32 gallon tank a misprint?

If you look closely, it is .32 gallons...basically 1/3 gallon. This is a bit difficult by myself in harder clay and I am rather strong. It is always best to have help when using these types of tools anyway and I would highly recommend that.

You would have to check with your local Home Depot for this answer. The one closest to me offers a walk-behind model that works great in rougher digging conditions.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I used the auger for transplanting. Dug 100+ holes and used only 1/2 tank of gas. Starts easy, runs well, assembly took <5 minutes, was up and running in 10 minutes. Seems to have the right amount of power. Any more power and you'd risk ripping your arms off. The coin flex really saves you when going through roots and rocks. Completely satisfied. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to assemble. Works great. Has much more power than expected. October 25, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not for the big jobs This great for small jobs , light weight being the big benefit. As for getting the job done I cannot recommend it for any very light or very heavy soil. For sandy soil it does not remove it from the hole. I had to dig it out by hand all though it did leave a nice round hole. As for heavy or hard soil it bogs down and stops until you almost have to us it like a jack hammer bouncing it up and down to get it to start and dig in. again had to dig the soil out by hand October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well in Puyallup, Wa dirt As a 1 man auger I thought it seemed a bit under powered then I realized if it had much more power it would be a 2 man auger. Dug the 2.5-3 foot holes we needed in minutes through the claylike volcanic dirt filled rock that surrounds the Mt. Rainier area. Had to pull it out of the hole a few times to remove rocks but I expected that. 1000X better then using the old fashioned post hole digger. October 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Homeowner Runs good, digs well! Very well priced. Great overall auger!! October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by post hole digger easy to start up and use, wish I would have bought this from the start and not rent the 2 man auger. even my 12 year old was able to use it . helps to put water in hole as you dig as it is not as powerful as 2 man. 2-3 min per 2 foot hole. would buy it again for sure October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than Expected Easy Assembly in less than 5 minutes, added gas and went to work right out of the box. Auger made planting of trees and shrubs quick and easy. Very happy with purchase, it worked better than expected. September 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not enough Power Even in root and rock free soil it could use more power. September 27, 2016
