SM2110 21 in. 139 cc 2-in-1 Walk-Behind Push Gas Lawn Mower is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 171.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good mower for small to mid-size yards Out of the box, the annoying surprise was the mower deck height; no one cuts the grass to 1” then why ship the mower with 1” deck height. It does not take too long to set it back to your desired height (recommended is 3” or higher). Once 15 minutes assembly was done, it started easy and got to work right away. Mulching attachment comes pre-installed which can be swapped by side-discharge attachment. It did a great job in mulching the grass clippings that I never noticed any large grass clippings laying around. Engine is quiet. Its 7” wheels gave me no trouble through tall grass areas. Since it’s a walk behind push mower, it’s suitable for small to mid-size yards. If you prime it more than 3 times, it might give you trouble starting the engine. How long would it last does depend on how well you maintain it. Read the manual, follow the instructions and you will enjoy operating this mower. All in all, it’s a good machine and does well what it’s supposed to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Little Mower Upon receiving the Southland 21 Inch Push mower, I was skeptical of the overall quality, and specifically the Magna Force OHV 5 ft-lb engine. The mower arrived fully assembled except for attaching several lock nuts, and filling the crankcase with oil (included). The wheels also needed to be changed to the proper height. After using the mower in various conditions, I must say I’m quite impressed with this little mower. The mower started on the second pull and the engine runs smooth as silk. It is noticeably quieter than my John Deere self-propelled mower and has less vibration. In fact it’s so quite I had to check the engine speed with a tachometer to ensure it’s running at maximum power. The mower zipped through 6 inch dry grass without bogging, both in mulching and side discharge modes. I tested the mower’s power by mulching some wet leaves, and it performed remarkably. The cyclonic force deck is a superb design and does not clog or leave clumps of grass when mulching. The mower only weighs 60 lbs and requires little effort to push. It’s great for use in tight spaces and boarders around gardens. The small wheels (7” diameter) are somewhat flimsy and require removal when changing the cutting height, but that’s a task I seldom perform once the proper height is selected. For the price, this is a good choice for small to medium sized lawns. It exceeded all my expectation and I recommend this product for value conscious consumers wanting a quality mower. It’s also made in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful small lightweight mower! I like this mower because it is a smaller one but cuts a 21" wide path. It comes in the box already basically assembled. However, the instructions tell you to adjust the height for mowing to the #3 setting, which is about 2 7/8". This requires that you take the bolt out of the wheels and elevate the mower base high enough to get the wheel bolt into the right spot. This step should be completed before you add the oil. You will need a 1/2" wrench and 9/16" wrench for tightening the bolts on the handles and the wheels. I used the stubby wrenches that I bought from Home Depot to get into the small area required to tighten the lock nuts. It was easier to get in there with the shorter wrenches. Don't forget to add the oil to the oil spout because it is empty when delivered. They actually give you the container of oil to get your mower up and running. The directions for assembly were easy to follow. Once you have the height adjusted, you don't have to do that part again. Starting the mower was very easy! You just push the red button 3 times and pull the cord. It couldn't be easier! When I started to mow I realized how much power this mower has. I was cutting down grass that had gone to seed and badly needed to be mowed. The mower went right through it. No problem! You can use it as a side discharge or as a mulcher. It comes set up to be used as a mulcher but it is easy to convert it. The part comes with it and there are instructions if you want to use it as a side discharge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, not great this is a great mower if you're looking for a way to keep up with a fairly small yard or take care of some edging. This mower does not come with a bagger but it mulches very well and the motor has plenty of power. to adjust the deck height you have to remove each wheel individually and it takes about 5 minutes to do so, not a big deal but a little bit of a pain. overall, it's a pretty good mower if you don't mind it not having a lot of features

Rated 3 out of 5 by from you get what you pay for Just purchased and used. A couple of comments. In my opinion this is NOT a mower worth $200 being sold for $140. It is an inexpensive mower selling for about what it's worth (if that). The height adjustment is labor intensive in that you have to remove nuts and bolts and then re-install in different holes to adjust. No easier to start (or less noise) than any other similar mower I've owned (engine is not Briggs & Stratton). I bought basically for trimming where my riding mower doesn't fit and that's about what it's good for. If you are looking for a $200 value at a $140 price, keep looking. This ain't it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad at all This is a very basic no-frills mower. In my mind, three stars is a good review for this type. To begin, this was received in a box with all the necessary parts including the oil which was not already installed. Don't forget to do this very important step. not do that step before assembling the rest of the mower because you will have to tilt it a lot to finish the assembly. The actual assembly was fairly easy depending on your mechanical skill level. You will need two small wrenches and possible a screwdriver. I recommend adjusting the deck height first to a level of one step below the maximum height (4 levels are available). This requires unscrewing the wheel bolt nuts, repositioning the bolts in another hole, and then replacing the nuts. About 10 minutes. Then insert the bolts for the handle and attach it. However.... while doing this you should position the control cable ABOVE the crossbar first. Mine came with the cable below the crossbar and this position will make for a very short cable life, because it will bend the cable sharply every time you fold the handle and unfold it for the next use. My experience with a similar mower resulted in a cable rusting, freezing up, and eventually breaking because of this problem. I mistakenly pushed the prime button many times because I felt no back pressure. After that, it took many, many pulls of the starter cord to start the engine. My error. Press the button only 2 or 3 times and then pull the starter cord, Mine works best at two times and starts on the first pull every time that way. I noticed that the effort to push this mower is a lot more when the engine is running. I assume that is because of the high pitch of the mulching style blade causing a downward pull. My old mower was much easier to push but did have much less pitch of the blade tips. If you have a problem with this mower taking too much effort to push, you might try a different blade. Check with your local mower shop about that. While on the subject of the blade, mine came very dull, presumably to avoid complaints about injury during the assembly. You may want to have the blade sharpened before the first regular use. This mower compares favorably with my previous similar mower, another economy brand with a B&S engine, at a lower price for this one even though it is years later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For what it is, it's good I personally prefer my mower to have more features, such as self-propelling, most importantly, but for what it is it does very well. It's high quality and doesn't have an issue with cutting tall grass that I've neglected to mow. I mulch so it was able to fit my needs, in that regard. There's really nothing wrong with it, it's high quality and recommended for those who don't need as many features on their mower.
