Customer Questions & Answers

Do you have to bury it if your running it under a deck?

Asked by: Kahuna
This wire can be use above ground or you could try 12/2 NM-B W/G; however I would advise you to consult with an electrician on the wiring codes in your area. The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

If I have knowledge how to do any eletric work and when I've done. Can I call an certified electrician for inspection?
Asked by: Carlos
You can but no licensed electrician would risk their license verifying someone else's work. Self-installing would also possibly void your home insurance if anything happened after you did the work.

can it be used overhead from main cuirciut to subpanel 100 feet away. For a irragation pump

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Rubenkawasaki
possibly, but you would need to check the pump manufactures website for the specs, which will give you the correct wire size to use for your specific pump and distance.
