I plan to run a sub panel approx. 60 feet from the main service box for a dryer and an Amana through the wall heat pump to share. The Heat pump at max is rated at 14 amps and will have a 20 amp double breaker in the sub panel. The dryer is listed at 24 amps and will have a 30 amp double breaker in the sub panel. Since that will only max out at 38 amps, can I use a 40 amp or will I need to use a 50 amp double breaker in the main for the sub panel? Should I use #6 or #8 wire to power the sub panel? Thank you
