No. You will need at least a 1 ½” PVC conduit. Keep in mind this product is for outdoor use only and cannot be run inside a building.

Will this wire work to a sub box?

I mean to run wire from my main box by jumpering the connection from the pole inside my 200 amp box. The sub box will be a 100 amp with a 220 volt and some 20 and 15 amp circuits Will this wire do the trick? Thx, Loren
Asked by: lz
Loren, Hire an electrician before you burn your house down! This wire is overkill for a 100 amp sub panel, #2 aluminum is rated for 100 amps you don't need 2/0 (which is rated for 150 amps). Also you don't jumper the connection inside your main panel, you add a circuit breaker to your main panel that feeds the sub panel. The size of your sub panel depends on how much load you currently have on your main panel and what the expected load is going to be on the sub panel. i.e. If your main panel is already loaded to max capacity then you can't add the additional load of a sub panel. You may require an upgrade to your main panel from 200 amps to say 250, 300, or even 400 amps in order to add a sub panel.

can I buy only 300 feet of 2/0-2/0-1/0 urd cable product #55416304?

Asked by: smitty
This product is sold as a 500' reel. Currently, it is not available "by the foot" on-line. However, you can check with the local Home Depot's in your area to see if this item is on their wire machine. Depending on local codes and restrictions, each Home Depot store has select service entry wire that is sold "by the foot".
