Is it ok to use these lighting flex whips in a residential ceiling flush mount fixture application rather than a typical commercial drop/suspended ceiling application? I want to use them to connect multiple fixtures in a row in my garage. They connect right into the fixture punch-outs so it would be easy and help me navigate around a few minor obstructions rather than running EMT. They are 50W LED fixtures so the 14-3 is sufficient.

Answer:
This product can be used in your intended application – just make certain you comply with NEC 330.30 regarding the securing Type MC cables (the whip uses Type MC cable). For example, per NEC 330.30(B) the cable will need to be secured within 12 inches of the cable termination (in the LED fixtures). If you do not have a copy of the NEC (NFPA 70), you can now access it (and other NFPA codes and standards) Read More
