Can't this be used as battery or DC ground cable?

Asked by: THP
For installation into an automobile? No. For installation in a building? Then yes. This is a building wire product, not an automotive product. The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

Is this 3/O welding wire or 3/O battery cable?

I need to know if this is welding wire or battery cable
Asked by: JON
It is neither welding wire or battery cable. It is an NEC recognized building wire and has a much lower strand count than battery or welding cable. In other words, it is meant for stationary use in a permanently wired circuit and not for use as a flexible cord.
