Home Depot 289591 is copper clad steel
Unfortunately for item# 289591 the Home Depot product page says the conductor is copper, however the product is copper clad steel. I didnt realize until I got it home, the packaging and wire labeling clearly show the wire type as CCS. CCS is inferior in may ways, and for the price it is being sold you can by RG6 quad in wall/riser solid conductor wire. I will be returning tomorrow.
I used this cable throughout my home during a complete re-wire of my cable and internet lines. I ran two lines of RG-6 quad-shield coax cable to each bedroom and to the living room as well, almost 600 feet total of cable was used. I was upgrading from dual-shielded RG-59 and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Before this re-wire, I could only have 3 cable lines in my home because the cable wouldn't allow for more. Not to mention I had to have an amplifier on 2 of those lines. Not with this new cable! No amplifiers, no poor signals, and 8 lines installed and ready to use. This cable is even higher quality than the RG-6 my cable company uses. I highly recommend this cable for a professional grade installation.
Southwire is an excellent wire and cable manufacture; I have used Southwire wire and cable for over 20 years...The is an excellent RG6 Quad CATV cable, I have never experienced distortion and the cable accepts compression connectors very well.
